Seriously though......Yoav. If you haven't heard him, you're truly missing out. Not to sound cliche, and I know this description gets thrown around alot, but I believe he will become the next huge musical genius on par with Jeff Buckley. The dude has insane amounts of talent. I know you guys would love his stuff. Check out "Yeah, The End" and "Wake Up"

    At the moment:

    1. My Morning Jacket - The most innovative band I have ever heard.
Every single song they play bears something special. And of course,
    their live performances are insane!

    2. Kings of Leon - Aha Shake Heartbreak is just amazing. Their new
album (Only by the Night) is great too. They're not that incredibly
original to me but it just sounds so cool. (Slow Night, So Long = best)

Hmmm... It's a very hard choice...

    3. Band of Horses - Many people say, it's a MMJ clone but I don't think
so. They are original in their own way. I love Cease to Begin (The General Specific!!!).

I repeat; At the moment; it changes all the time!
I don't want to be the fool that's behind me but I am...

    I'll Hold The Pain... Release...

    1. Pearl Jam
    2. Wilco
    3. Blind Melon

me and my friend watched "sunken treasure" and "i am trying to break your heart" last weekend and despite the fact that he seems crazy i'm convinced jeff tweedy is a genius.

    Thats a great combo man

    According to my facebook:
    Pearl Jam
    Soundgarden
    The Who

But it always changes for me. TBH, I really don't care who my 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc favorite bands are. Pearl Jam is just soooo much better than any other band that it doesn't matter to me. Soundgarden is definately my 2nd fav band tho. After that I dunno... The Who, Les Claypool, Tea Leaf Green, DMB, and phish are all other favs but it doesn't matter to me.

EDIT: Why is this one huge page!?!?!? 72 replies and one page?

    Pearl jam
    Wilco
    Tragically hip

All 3 bands are amazing and have such a huge and devoted fanbase. I really feel that all these bands are on the same level. All the hip and Wilco need to do is allow audio boot trading freely and that's it. The greatness of the music speaks for itself. I haven't had a chance to see the hip live yet, but I hope it comes soon.

not counting pj and in no paticular order:

    My Morning Jacket
doesn't need explaining, they push the envelope

    White Stripes/Raconteurs
jack white is unstoppable, and freakin' prolific too, my favorite guitarist of all time probably

    The Roots
I'd imagine they wouldn't get much respect here, but theyre amazing. progressing from the undeniable grooves of do you want more??!!??! to the absolute masterpiece that is game theory is nothing short of impressive, cant wait to see them live

Anyone posting, read the first paragraph of this thread. The guy's talking about current bands writing and playing music now. Don't think he means The Who or The Doors.
