  • You're right 1989 is crazy. So ahead of it's time!!
I still find it amazing that that came out in 89... and fucking Downward Spiral was 94... the man is insane. Downward Spiral sounds like it just came out recently (as in the overall quality of the album sounds that way).

are you smokin crack? jeremy? you shook me? moby dick? STAIRWAY?!!? dy'er m'ker? great gig? that is crazy talk!

well, I wasn't picking your perfect albums, but mine. Upon further consideration, I'll give you Stairway and Jeremy. But I stand by Great Gig, D'yer M'ker, Moby Dick, and yes, even You Shook Me. I simply find myself skipping these tracks when I revisit those albums. However, this is probably due to how much I listened to PF and LZ during high school and college. Even with the aforementioned songs, I know every note and nuance in those songs. So, it's not for lack of listening...

    Ten - Pearl Jam
Blood Sugar Sex Magic - Red Hot Chili Peppers
    Ok Computer - Radiohead

    -
    IV - Led Zeppelin
Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
    -

This last two already have lots of votes, and I think most of us agree (as with "Ten") that this are probably the best albums ever.

The first three are my three favourite records ever.

Honestly, this is a really tough question.

"Perfection" should be on a higher pedal than an album with all good songs.

"Ten" isn't perfect - imagine adding YL and Wash to it? I think "No Code" is absolutely perfect. Taking away something or adding something would ruin it.

"OK Computer" is perfect. "The Bends" is not.

Someone brought up Tom Petty's "Wallflowers" - that is perfect.

I think these are perfect too:
    "Z"
    "Siamese Dream"
    "Nevermind"
    "Joshua Tree"
    "Into the Wild"

"This feeling is wonderful...don't you ever turn it off."

  • Distorted Lullabies - Ours

Awesome, didn't really know anyone else listened to Ours on here.

And don't ya'll mean Tom Petty's album, "Wildflowers"...? It's perfect that you don't know its proper name ;)
If I could, think I would give in.

    Concrete Blonde - Free

    bunches of others.

Oddly, Urban Hymns is one of my favorite albums ever and has my favorite song ever yet I think there are more perfect albums than it. A couple tracks on it seem like filler to me. Does that even make sense?

    We're counting compilations?

Minor Threat's Complete Discography then. I'd also say Out of Step but it's more a long EP than an album.

Not really I mainly put that one in because I'm seeing them next month at the 9:30 Club here in DC. So impatience is to blame.

ahh the 9:30 club... I'm only 19 and from the UK so I missed the whole 80s DC punk scene but I've seen so many awesome videos of bands like Bad Brains, Rites of Spring and Embrace playing there. It's the one moment in time I feel like I missed out most on.

I could live without There's a World but otherwise Harvest is definitely flawless.

I love A Man Needs a Maid so much.

The first time I went to the 9:30 Club in the late 80's early 90's on 930 F street was just awesome to go there. I was the sizee of my living room and if you jumped too high your head would hit the ceiling. Now the club has moved in the mid 90's to 9th and V street near Florida Ave and it's much bigger with a balcony and has a capacity of 1300.

Love to go to shows there just for the sound and intimacy with the stage. Great veggie burger too. :)

    Heh, not quite :)

I prefer Ride the Lightning to MOP for a start.

    Ok, there's a whole debate on it's own :D
Ride.. is a great record, but MOP surely sweeps it aside on just about every level :p it just oozes class
