The Raconteurs - Consolers of the Lonely
    Conversations getting dull
There's a constant ringing in my ears
Sense of humor's void and numb
    And I'm bored to tears.......

You are correct. October 2007. But I like it so much it's my album of the year for 2007 AND 2008. :)

(The physical CD wasn't released until 1/1/08 so technically I can do that, right?)

    without a shadow of a doubt.. :)

although The Harmless Little F*** Jazz Octet's album "I'm Not Really Going To Live Off Grid" was, in the immortal words of Rudyard Kipling... the fucking shit!
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

The album is actually called 'I-never-said-I-would-live-off-grid-but-I-have-started-the-ball-rolling-on-everything-I-set-out-to-do-in-order-to-be-more-environmentally-conscious' ;)

I'm not sure whati think the album of the year is. I know that i have about 16 new albums so far (which is on pace for my usual 30 a year) and none of them have blown me away.

I have not heard the new sigur ros but i've heard most of the other ones mentioned. I thought the new MMJ and Ranconteurs were both okay but lacking. Same with DBT, Black Crowes, Fleet Foxes, REM, Wolf Parade, Destroyer Weezer, and many of the others i've heard.

right now i'd say that opeth's watershed is up there for me. Probably the fav i've hears thus far.

The only album i'm still looking forward to that is not out yet is Mastodon's new album is lurking in the distance as a late fall release. From the stuff i heard during the bonoroo show it sounds very interesting. Plus Brendan O'Brian is producing it. So i'm very interested to hear that.

    Are you serious?

I really like "Time to Pretend" is the rest of the album good, too?

So far, I'll say Consolers, for sure.

    Drive-by Truckers....
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.
