Was the lolla crowd the largest Pearl Jam has played to? I know they have done festivals before, but was this the only time that they were the only band playing, bringing a majority of the festival crowd to that stage?

Local paper said Police estimated that there was 200,000 for the whole weekend. Last year's sales were 166,000 and Lolla officials expected this year to sell well over that. I don't know if there was 100,000 people on the field on Sunday but it was close...

  • There were definately close to 100K, if not well over that. There seemed to be an endless amount of people because there were no other shows going on at that time. Kickass show though, very unexpected. It was my 10th!!!

I chatted with her for a bit. She's a huge fan. Her boyfriend, not so much. He got into the show... couldn't get her in, so she hung out with "the crew" for most of the night. I forgot her name, hence the "who's the hottie" tag :)

I don't know how many ppl were there. Probably between 70,000 and 100,000.

What was the last time PJ played a festival (GA Admission) in the US?

so what if he wanted to sell it for 600? family vacation sounds nice, if thats his thing. relax.

I am sure he could have sold it for $600 if he was serious. I was offered $1000.

    Lolla had 100k easy.

I met the hottie in the pic at an evenflow show. I do not remember her name. She is an artist and obviously cool since she likes PJ.

ha, being a fan of pj doesn't make anyone automatically "cool". I've met a ton of assholes and snots at Pearl Jam shows.

But I guess being a fan is a good start though huh?

Entertainment Weekly is reporting 167,000 total attendance
    for the weekend.

Am still curious about Sunday's numbers.

it would make sense that a high percentage of people who went friday and saturday also went sunday. and I also think there are a good amount of people who went sunday only.

so of the 167,000 for the weekend, at least 80% or higher of that was there on sunday??
  • this may or may not help, but I got into the grounds just after ben harper started on friday and my bracelet was number 32,000 or so, so if they were handing them out in order you can take away that number from the total estimate and get a better idea for sunday
    looking for 2 to Columbia...

80% of 167,000 is 133,600. You have to assume that not everyone in attendance during the day sunday stayed for PJ. Guessing here, but let's say 80% of Sunday's attendance stayed for PJ.....that puts it at 106,880.

All guessing and speculation here. That's a lot of fucking people. Would've hated being in the back of that crowd.

I was there all 3 days and on Sunday and it seemed to me that there were at least twice the amount of people that were there were on Friday...at least twice.

Whatever the actual numbers are, it has to be one of the largest crowds Pearl Jam has played to in the last 10 years, and thats pretty damn cool.

A very educated guess. I think 100K is delusional from the numbers I've been reading.

delusional? haha why? are you from chicago? what makes you so educated if you arent from there? have you been reading almost EVERY publication that says there were between 170,000 - 200,000 for the weekend. maybe you arent so educated?? im jus sayin.... but yet its hard to believe most of those people were there on sunday and stayed to see the headliner?? insane concept I know.

it is alot of people. and when the show was over, I felt the crowd went on forever as we all filed out.

like I sadi before, most Chicagoans know what its like on july 3rd or air + water show. literally 1 million people line the lakefront. this had the same feel. (not a million, but 6 figures for sure)

60/70k is the size of a bears game. this was definitely bigger.

I was there (and the VIC!) and didn't seem to be more people then Werchter - which I think was 80K and I was there as well.

170000-200,000 is a 3 day total. If someone bought a 3 day pass they are counted 3 times in that number.

No big deal either way was just offering up an opinion.

    "Still no numbers
Despite numerous requests for attendance figures throughout the weekend, as in the last two years, Lolla publicists did not make these available to the press as of Sunday night. Early on, they said they expected "as many as 60,000" per day. But to these experienced concert-going eyes — as well as the estimates of police officials, stage production veterans and security workers — the total probably only reached that peak on Sunday. "
