If (and I mean IF) Bonnaroo is some part of a multiple show swing by Pearl Jam, how much time do they honestly have left to burn before setting their logistics and announcing show dates, times, and ticket info?

Think about it with me, using Tom Petty and Radiohead for examples. TP&TH are touring heavy this summer in amphitheatres and stadiums. Their dates run through August and are already on-sale. Radiohead is locked to tour Europe in June and July. They have announced the cities that they'll play in North America both before and after Europe. So that means they have been scheduling holds on--what I suspect are--amphis and arenas (though they have not made specifics public).

Considering those two, I think Pearl Jam:

    A. has no plans to tour in a broad sense around the time of Bonnaroo
    B. will play only a fan club show in Nashville just before Bonnaroo, and
    C. plans to do a run of dates later in the year to help get out the vote

But I'm just making a slightly educated guess. I have nothing concrete to support that.

Hey, at least we're getting the Bonnaroo show.

It appears that most of Pearl Jam is on-board with Barack Obama. He won the states of Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. Those states deserve PJ shows because they agreed with the band's choices.

Clinton won Arkansas, Tennessee, and Florida. Those states need pick-me-up shows so that Pearl Jam can rally more support for their guy in the South.

See? This is working out very well for us.

well lets see....Hilliary is edging out Obama (well from last news I saw last night)....so there's a chance she'll win......the bands pretty much endorsing Obama......so if Hilliary wins will they do a vote for change? I mean...would they actively participate in helping her??? I wouldn't put any money on them doing VFC. Wish they did though...need my PJ fix bad...but to go to festival with thousands of drunk smelly obnoxious folks......have to rent an RV...is it worth it...fk fk ...

Come on fella's please just kindly do some shows....southern perferably.

    Thanks

I'll just assume you are making a joke. PJ fans are too intelligent to think such things right? Safe? We don't live in Mogadishu. ;)

Guys, I'm thinking it's about time we heard from JR. Isn't he located in Tenn.?

Hope everyone has a blast at Bonnaroo. I'm not into the festival thing and it's quite a haul. I think I could probably get to some place like Philly in less time from here. Hopefully we will see some PJ shows down here some time this year.

  • What's the deal with "stereotyping" those whom live in the South? Weird. I guess we can thank Jeff Foxworthy, and other Redneck humor. Florida is NOT Alabama.........and I don't personally have anything against Alabama - so don't verbally attack me! Why do people fear the South? It's not like living in an "inter-city" neighborhood here in P.C. Why do people think such things - apparently - around the world? Strange. Very strange!
