“It’s the idea that people living close to nature tend to be noble. It’s seeing all those sunsets that does it. You can’t watch a sunset and then go off and set fire to your neighbor’s tepee. Living close to nature is wonderful for your mental health.”
Beautiful weekend. Spent most of the afternoon outdoors yesterday playing soccer and wiffle ball with my friends kids. Going to see the Durham Bulls today. Cant we just put life on pause and say screw the work week tomorrow? Enjoy the rest of your weekend "The South".

sea beans are these hard little beans that wash ashore ... they come from all over the world - sometimes are very hard to find... just another reason to take a long walk on the beach (we also pick up garbage)
Are we ever gonna get word about a tour again??? I'm losing hope, every other band is touring, right now, or this summer. What about us????

It is looking like we won't hear anything this year. Perhaps at the end of the year, we may hear something aout 2008? They have quite a bit to get thru yet (this summer's second European festival tour), then a couple of gigs in the US in in the Fall and then a well deserved break. We are hoping for a Spring 2008 tour - but we wouldn't hear about that until late 2007 or early 2008 anyway. If they decide to cut another album, our wait could be even longer.
But hey, you never know - things could change overnight. At least we hope. IF they skip the South again on future tours, I think they risk losing a good portion of their show fanbase down here.

Yeah the more and more i think about it, the more and more i relate to everyone being so upset. I mean.... its one thing to not play the south but they could have told us that.... around the NA tour time (I did learn my lesson from years of not being able to go to shows, so i did attend the na shows for good measure..but who would of thought they wouldnt play the south at all?) ..... i mean, i dunno... maybe we are just missing the big picture or something.... but what ive always really loved about pearl jam is that it seemed like they "heard" us.....and i dont think they are listening anymore.... im hoping im just being over dramatic and if i am being, i apologize.....
For now im gonna try to keep the pj ants out of my pants and get myself some peace of mind this summer....im thinking long days on the beach.......
I love pearl jam, i wish them nothing but the best in the world... i just hope they realize that we arnt a bunch of crazies... and that we just have a really deep relationship with the music. This feels just like when your in highschool, and the guy/girl you are in love with hasnt called in over a week
so give us a call! we're still here, waiting by the phone for whatever reason
I kinda gave up on seeing them anytime soon, lol. Sucks, but it's something I can't do anything about and I accepted it
I'm keeping my hopes up for '08 though
Oh well. I'm off to enjoying my summer and seeing other bands while I'm at it. Next stop: Roger Waters.

Ha Ha... forlorn, unrequited love... I know how you feel.
I just think they weren't paying attention, that things were a bit dis-organized and perhaps control was not even in their hands (at least for the album debut tour). The test is when they come back to do the next tour... will they make it right. I traveled to Denver and Portugal to see them...but if they skip us in the future (and remain silent about it) I doubt I would ever travel to see them again. They wouldn't deserve my support. But, I think better of them - they will eventually address this faux-pas, one way or another.
Roger Waters .... cool!!! We are seeing Morrissy in July. I've got other things to focus on now... it is going to be a busy few months.
But with Pearl Jam, I am extremely patient and still want our message to be heard (don't want them to forget us):) And I do look for our friend, Mr. JTR to re-emerge one day with any sort of news. I could be a LONG wait.
I do hope they take the time to be with their families, new and old as that is most important of all. I certainly don't mind taking a back seat for that. It is right.

been awhile since Denver and looks like it will be a bit longer before we have reason to get together. i agree with some of the comments in this thread _ i think the band/management has just kind of lost touch with the fan base for the first time in its history....there is no reason not to let us know what is going on in the rumor pit - even if just to say: "we have some ideas or no idea and are sorting any plans out by the fall or something" - anything besides silence.
i know there have been some vague official updates but they don't really have much depth...
I think the fellas and their recent babies, weddings, hobbies, side-projects, etc...are just taking over their interest versus being out on the road, can't blame them - but the band could just say outright "we are done for awhile " in more detail....
The saddest thing is i am sort of losing (not lost) my connection with the band and our music after 15 years, i suppose it happens to some fans but i am still hopeful and always so appreciative of the unlikely run we've had though. PJ always has a big place with me. - just hard to let go and change of how it was...
cetainly I ain't done yet - still rambling, and btw, the South abides!

Hey Luggy- you big nut! you couldn't have said it any better... I think we are all distancing ourselves a little bit from the band- getting busy in other areas, but they generally rope us back in when they try. I think it is important to remain "in their face" - thus the maintaining this thread.
I am anxious to hear some new music from them. Maybe they'll incorporate some of these life changes that they are experiencing into songs.
I think we will have that big party one day... in a year or two.
Can't believe it is almost summer...have fun.
