The one where they brilliantly played the same song twice in the same set.
i shouldn't question you though. i know too many hipsters like you to ever think my opinion counts for anything when weighed against the genius of a loser who spends 22 hours a day listening to albums so that he can pretentiously pass judgment on artists who have accomplished more than you ever will in your mom's basement. thanks for telling us all arcade fire was soooooo 3 years ago. did you come up with that yourself or did your mindless pitchfork worshipping record store buddies give that gem to you? perhaps it was stolen from your kid sister's discussion of her wardrobe?
Sigh.
1. i'm not a hipster. i spend too many hours listening to Nine Inch Nails, wearing black, and thinking about how much better The Gutter Twins are than everything else currently on the chart.
2. i don't spend 22 hours a day listening to albums
3. i am not in my mom's basement
4. Arcade Fire's first album was much better than the second, hence the heaps of praise they received then, and hence the lack of popularity they have now.
5. i don't like Pitchfork, they only listen to shitty indie crap that all sounds the same and random crap that gets it's asshole licked just for being different when in actuality it just sucks.
6. yes, i came up with it all by myself.
7. i don't have a kid sister.
on the upside, you make me realize how no matter how bad my life is, at least i'm not as lame as record store clerks.
i don't think record stores even exist anymore, do they?
my vote goes to buckcherry, for fucking the wives, mothers, sisters, and girlfriends of all the wanker indie bands listed here and then doing lines of coke of their tits before kicking the shit out of the lead singers.
ok, we agree on something.
Buckcherry kicks ass. Even though the first lineup, and first 2 albums, were better
whatever Mark Lanegan and Greg Dulli happen to be busying themselves with at any given time.
How did I forget them? I absolutely agree, these guys couldn't make a shit record if they tried. And I know I've said it a million times, but Powder Burns by Twilight Singers is the best rock record to be released in fucking years, aeons better and more Rock 'n' Roll than anything Buckcherry have ever put out.
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.
I was wondering if anyone else was thinking Rush are pretty darn good! Seriously what other band has been together as long, with the same members, continually putting out good music and touring?
And yeah Pearl Jam is pretty good too!

i have actually. Vertigo tour.
The one where they brilliantly played the same song twice in the same set.
that was an inside joke for their fans, a reference to the days when they didn't even have enough songs to play a set without repeating songs. if anything, it shows they don't take themselves too seriously and it's about more than cranking out a jukebox selection.

1. you and i are on the same level after all! my apologies, that sounded like a hipster thing to say and as i've made clear, i hate hipsters.
2. that's good, it's unhealthy.
3. also good, also unhealthy.
4. no argument there, the first was better by far. but lack of popularity at the moment doesn't mean they're not a good band and many bands have struggled with the sophomore slump.
5. agreed.
6. fair enough.
7. my bad.

seems we agree on quite a bit. though i never heard buckcherry's second album, i heard it was a huge drop off (sophomore slump?). dug 15 and s/t though. there's a video for their new single on their myspace and it kicks ass.
Based on popularity, I guess I'd go with the Queens of the Stone Age.
honestly, I only like Rated R and SOTD but haven't give their other records a thorough listen yet though.

See, I think Funeral is to Ten as Neon Bible is to Yield. I loved Funeral, but I love Neon Bible even more. Completely brilliant from beginning to end. Antichrist Television Blues is about as good as it gets musically. And they are more popular than ever. They sold out Shoreline here in the Bay Area last year, something even Pearl Jam struggles to do.
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.

Timebomb is awesome. They just went through alot of issues around the time (you know, like breaking up) and couldn't give it the proper push it deserved.
It's my favorite Buckcherry album by far. The lyrics to Porno Star are way better than Crazy Bitch, and Ridin' is far superior to Lit Up

I have taken a listen and you couldnt be any more wrong.

Lil Wayne is better than Pearl Jam.

I'd have to agree.

they do here in chicago. but i don't own a record player so i just buy cd's there because they're used and cheap.
