I thought the performance was fine.
Same, I was expecting a total trainwreck but it didn’t sound too bad to me

Yeah, it maybe wasn't as strong as some of his other recent shows, but it was fine.

The Oasis Facebook page is brutal to be a part of.  People just complain and complain and complain.....

I just can't imagine begging for a reunion for 15 years, just for it to finally happen and then complain about voice, prices, tickets, etc

  • Well, thats just it. People feel swindled by the prices and if they missed out on tix, they feel bitter. combine that with living in cynical times and having unlimited outlets to express frustration, and there you have it.

Not on Facebook, but complaints about how the ticket sales were handled are justified. That said, time to move on!

15 year absence has done wonders for their popularity. It seemed like 15 - 20 years ago, they were having trouble selling out midsized venues. Now they're selling out stadiums.
  • Mere hours away from another announcement, it seems...

It will be interesting to see what happens with the US shows. There is no doubt some pent up demand but I cannot fathom dealing with a football stadium to see this band.

Looks like only Toronto, NY, Chicago and LA

Also, don't love the wording of the announcement "You have one last chance...."

Sounds like this might be a one and done kind of reunion tour

It's interesting that they feel like they have to hold back the other cities

Cage the Elephant is a pretty strong opener.  I think they can sell it since they dropped the Boston show.  One at MetLife for the East coast, one in Chicago for the Midwest, and one out west in LA.

  • They were pretty popular in their prime. I think their last Chicago area show they played All state arena which holds close to 20,000. Soldiers is 3 times that. So add 15 years of no shows, a Wonderwall meme, and an established narrative that the first 2 albums are untouchable. I think people will travel to these shows. They will sell very well.

  • My read on that is they expect these shows to sell out, but they also expect these tickets to be selling face value next August.

Those are huge stadiums. They are probably using the presale sign up to determine the demand, maybe for additional shows. I think this will likely be a pass for me unless something changes my mind.

Yeah, that leaked list of dates had a day off in all 3 US cities. They probably have holds there in case they add more shows.

I saw them live 20 years ago, and I really like their songs. But their performance was such a job to them. It was like their only stage presence was to play the songs, and then that was it. No movement, no nothing. I think it will be tough for them to sell out these North American shows.

The initial announcement is 5 shows in 3 countries over 3 weeks. Obviously some strategy around holding back those additional shows/cities.

The last time Oasis played Los Angeles, it was at Staples Center, and the upper level was closed-off.  I wonder what the current demographic will be?......will people who were too young back then want to see them now?
