That made me laugh...even tough I like the Crue ...hahaha
Hee...hee...glad I could bring some amusement to the discussion....
Being an oldtimer (as in real world age), I can fondly remember a time when Phil Collins did not suck major root. Once upon a time, he was one of the greatest rock drummers going. He was okay as a front man when he tried to take over for Peter Gabriel. "Three Sides Live" is still one of my favorite live albums, but after he discovered gold in Pop music....holy shit!!!!! He sold his soul so fast that we almost missed him selling it.
The same applies to Sting. After he left the Police, his music has truly sucked. What a wanker........The Police were my favorite band in high school.
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.
Seriously, anyone who likes bright eyes and or that whole Omaha scene should check out Lullaby For the Working Class.
They are the first and only great band to come from that scene.
I mean I really can only see a comparison to Ryan Adams being accurate if you take his latest acoustic album into consideration. I just don't see it otherwise.
people hating RHCP......
sorry, i love the peppers.
my hate list:
twisted sister
poison
guns n' roses
bon jovi

or, pretty much anyone from the 80s who thought wearing aquanet and spandex was cool.
creed and nickelback annoy the piss out of me on the radio.
other than that, not much. all that emo crap i usually just turn off. doesnt bother me. but those 2 bands i litteraly shudder when i hear their voices on the radio.
ok, somebody back there said that they don't like metallica, i can't be bothered to go back and quote it but i would like to say why the hell not!?!? im not crushing your opinion, thats yours, but i am asking your views, why they are rubbish.
and i agree with someone else who said that system of a down deserve more credit. they do indeed! the person who said it sucks, have you heard any songs apart from b.y.o.b??

i dislike metallica for many reasons... chief among them being the fact that every metallica songs since about 91 has been exactly the same. they have ceased to be relevant. yes, they had some good tunes in the 80s, but even then, many of them were pretty much the same. all about 7-8 minutes long with a nice 1 minute carbon copy metal solo in the middle.
system of a down just sucks. that guy needs to learn how to sing like he's not coming off a halloween sound effects album.
Metallica the metal band died after And Justice For All, in my eyes. The Black album was crap, and Load and Reload were spotty at best (although they had some really good songs on them that I still like). These guys were once my favourite band in the world, but they have totally lost me. Even their older albums aren't as great as I remeber them, and there are definately 80's metal bands I like more than metallica's 80's stuff (although I guess Master Of Puppets is still awesome, if a little played out. Hammet was a sloppy guitarist who hid behind the whammy bar on a lot of his solos, and Lars is a shitty drummer. Straight up. I mean this.
My top 10 most hated bands that need to go to hell:
1. Creed (Post-Grunge Pearl Jam rip-offs)
2. Nickelback (AIC rip-off band)
3. Godsmack (Demented AIC rip-offs)
4. Linkin Park (They just suck. End of story)
5. Breaking Benjamin (The singing is so god fucking awful)
6. Hoobastank (Their vocalist is shit)
7. Puddle Of Mudd (Very obvious AIC ripoffs)
8. Staind (AIC rip-offs)
9. Limp Bizkit (Fred Durst is a fucking idiot)
10. Theory Of A Deadman (Big STP Rip-offs)
Although St. Anger sucked, I say we give Metallica a chance with the new album. If the upcoming album sucks, then I'll write the new Metallica off as shit. They got a new producer, if that says anything.
3/4 of the Chili Peppsers are brilliant but A.K. just sucks big time.
Dude, what's wrong with Anthony? He might not have the energy he had during BSSM, but the guy can still sing!!! Please explain to me your problems with Anthony Kiedis, I'd really like to know...

Well, in my opinion he can't sing at all (especially live). It's a pity but they could be a much better band with a singer who can catch up with rest of the band.

I think it's a waste of energy to hate bands. In order to hate something, you must become quite familiar with it, regardless of the subject matter...unless we're talking hatered that is based in pure ignorance, which is small, and very human of us.
I prefer instead to focus only on music that speaks to me on an physical or psychological level...and preferable both at the same time. I have plenty of time to critique the state of a lot of music, but I don't have time to dig into anything that doesn't resonate with me as a listener, or appreciator of good work.
