Sad thing is that I agree, their shows are getting a bit boring, I would like to see one more show, then they can call it quits

I'll reserve judgement on Metallica and Guns until after the next albums, the rest I agree with.

    That tour started in 05...

Time to call it a day, boys.

    Nickleback. Cause they suck.

Um, I think as long as the Stones still bring in the money and people want to see them, they should keep playing.

Personally, and I know most people will disagree, I also think the Red Hot Chili Peppers should call it quits. I haven't been a big fan of anything since One Hot Minute (which I seem to be the only person in existence who loved this album). Californication had some great songs, and it was fine. But I really haven't liked BTW, or SA. Also, judging from the time I saw them in concert (and several live performances on TV), their live show sucks.

Completely agree with all those choices - except Dylan, his last album was actually REALLY good

....I also totally agree with RHCP - their output has become embaressing

    ....I would add Ozzy/Black Sabbath

You could add Good Charlotte to that list as well.
Scott Stapp can crawl back under the rock he came from as well.
    Linkin Park
    Papa Roach
    Limp Biscuit
    Evanessence

Think the Chilis should stick around a bit longer though.

but you're just naming bands that fucking suck, which is different from the point of the thread which is good bands that should stop, and yeah the peppers should stop cause they are weak live and the last album was lame at best.

i don't understand why the hell everyone has to have such a problem with the chili peppers....well actaully that's fine if you don't like their music but to just say they are a weak live band is a ridiculous statement. i have heard so many other people make the same statement and i think it just has to be a backlash against them because a lot of people think they are sell outs and don't like their music. anyway i'm not denying that they may have played some shitty concerts but i have seen them three times and they were amazing every time. I don't care what you say about keidis' voice because i'll be the first to admit that it's not very good, but musically these guys rock out. flea is one of the best bass players out there if not the best. john frusciante is one of the best guitarists out there and chad is a pretty nasty drummer. so please enlighten me on how these guys suck so much, or are you just a hater..............anyway i think the stones should hang it up.

Not to derail the thread too much, but, since I was the first person in this thread to say the Chili Peppers, I'll respond here.

I'll start by saying, that when I saw them, the band generally played the songs pretty well. There was some cool jamming, and I thought John's voice actually sounded real good. However, like you said, Anthony sucked. Straight out sounded terrible. Now, that's not a big deal if they were a jam band, and there wasn't so much singing. But that's not the case. They are a rock band with a lead singer who sounds awful in concert. That's a really big turn off (musically).

Also, when I saw them, the played a little over an hour, which is very short (I'm not trying to compare to Pearl Jam, but I want at least close to two hours, especially if they have as much material to draw from as the Chili Peppers do). Also, if they had only played a short show the night I saw them, but it was an off night, than I might be more forgiving. But, I found out, that they were playing almost the same identical set every night, in the exact same order with the same exact gimmicks (i.e. Chad's exact same drum solo at the same place ever concert, flea's horn solo at the same place...). I personally find that pretty lame when the band can't even mix it up a little bit. It's one thing if Simon and Garfunkle's reunion show is the same every night, cause it doesn't matter. We're just glad to see them playing together at all. But, guys like the Chili Peppers should be able to have a little more variation.

Lastly, I just think there last two albums were flat out bad. And that pretty much sums it up.

Edit: I forgot to add, that when I saw the Chili Peppers, QOTSA opened up, played a 3-4 song set for about 40 minutes, and still blew the Chili Peppers away. And I didn't even like QOTSA that much at that point, and had been a HUGE RHCP fan.

Genesis without Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett is a band that does need to stay on the sidelines........Give it up, Phil, your solo stuff sux.

I reserve judgment on the Police.........They were great when I saw them in 1982.

Billy Joel fucking rocked when I saw him at the Carrier Dome last year. He's got plenty of energy, and is a hell of a piano player and performer. The same can't be said anymore for the declining skills of the stones though. they should have bowed out a long time ago.

I've not seen them live but I agree with everything you said. I cared about RHCP when Dave Navarro was with them but that's it. I've never heard much praise about their live show which is interesting considering how great they're supposed to be.

Personally I think Billy Corgan should call it a day. The Pumpkins won't be the real Smashing Pumpkins and even if they were, they were sucking it up pretty badly before they called it quits. Plus they have always sounded awful live to my ears.

    Whoa, whoa whoa...hold up...

Fuck no. The Pumpkins were still at their peek (in my opinion) when they called it quits. I mean, Machina I and II are probably my favorite albums as a whole by them.

The new Pumpkins will be amazing...and as far as I am concerned...their live show wasn't amazing vocally, but those guys (and girl) rocked the fuck out.
