VINNY GOOMBA wrote:I wish Radiohead and Tool had some awesome live DVDs. I'm sure they'd be right up there with everything else we've mentioned.
Well for radiohead, The Astoria London Live is a great Dvd... unfortunatly it came out just after The Bends, so there is nothing on there from Ok Computer onward."I'll ride the wave where it takes me"

Can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet but go check out Festival Express. All things considered it's not the best DVD out there but it is awesome. Would have loved to have been a fly on the wall on that train. . .it's a fragile thing, this life we lead.

The original question is 100% subjective, there's obviously no one "correct" answer. I canNOT believe how much people are arguing in this thread! Shouldn't be surprised, but for some reason in this thread it did surprise me.
That said, going to original question, I agree with a lot of the ones already named (and need to check out many others named that I haven't seen), but I'm going to add "Stop Making Sense" by the Talking Heads. And there's a Japanese live Clash show from when Topper Headon was still the drummer that is AWESOME to watch. That one too, might be my number 1. It's on youtube, no idea if it was ever "released".0 -
Pink Floyd, Pulse. Phenomenal."Don't be delicate, be vast and brilliant."0

Iron Maiden - Live After Death - the first concert video I ever saw on VHS from a rental store, and still my favorite live concert of all time.
other notables
U2 at Slane Castle
White Stripes - Under Blackpool Lights (although the Glastonbury 2005 is better)
Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals - Live at Hollywood Bowl
REM - live at Nurburgring in 2005 is fantastic
alot of the European festival tv broadcasts are better than commmercially produced dvd's0 -

STP - Alive in the Windy City.. hasn't been mentioned. Quite refreshing to see them all have their shit together for a night. Wish I would've seen them on that tour. They were pretty awesome on that reunion run. Saw them at a small outdoor venue right up front. Just a great show. I think I prefer some of the live performances for the Greatest Hits companion dvd, but they're a great band with a great live sound. No complaints about any of it.HesCalledDyer said:STP - Alive in the Windy City.. hasn't been mentioned. Quite refreshing to see them all have their shit together for a night.
