Considering he's from the Screaming Trees and they are well known around here you shouldn't be too surprised. They were a part of that Seattle explosion in some way after all and naturally draw fans of that sound. He's got a great voice but I only have Sweet Oblivion so far.

    1. Pearl Jam
    2. Neil Young
    3. PJ Harvey
    4. Tori Amos
    5. Ryan Adams
    6. Uncle Tupelo/Wilco/Son Volt, etc.

I realize number 6 is cheating, but that's just too bad.

It's hard to make a list of all-time favorites, so mine is a combination of long-time loves I may not listen to so frequently (Pearl Jam, Neil, PJ Harvey, Tori Amos) and more recent obsessions (Ryan Adams and the Uncle Tupelo combinations).

Five years ago I would have certainly named Alice in Chains and Soundgarden, but I just barely consider myself a fan nowadays. Who knows what I might feel this time next year.

I can't believe how many mentions of Ryan Adams there are on here. Everything he's done is totally derivative and unoriginal. Check out the other fella - Jesse Malin - he's much better.

I don't base my love for music on how original it is. It is how much I can enjoy it... and how much it moves me (whether it is original or not).

As for Ryan Adams I do think that he makes some great music. So yeah.
