there is a nice choice to choose from. I think this has been the best period for new music ,well in my short 16 years on this planet. i think prob the PJ album has to be the best so far, with the new Tool a close second and then Stadium Arcadium third. Some sweet albums coming soon though with Muse and the new Radiohead.

yeah I'm too biased to not put PJ in there but Show your bones is a great one, also agree with original poster about the strokes, 2 days and I get to see them.

Aside from PJ, it's got to be Stadium Arcadium. Not purchased anything else yet.

Yeah, definately a great year for music so far. Don't have one favorite in particular but these are all exceptionally strong albums:

    Pearl Jam
Neil Young - Living With War
Flaming Lips - At War With the Mystics
Drive By Truckers - A Blessing and a Curse
Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins - Rabbit Fur Coat
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

I think Living With War has the edge over Pearl Jam for me, but not by much.

Loose Fur, Born Again in the USA is great too.

How is that new Snow Patrol record? I almost picked it up w/Stadium Arcadium the other day.

Pretty much everything I bought this year has been great:

    Strokes-First Impressions
Yeah Yeah Yeah - Show Your Bones
    Pearl Jam
    RCHP - Stadium Arcadium
    Wolfmother
New Pornographers - Twin Cinema (oh wait I guess that would be 05, but I just purchased it last month)

Hard to pick my favorite from this list, although the New Pornagraphers would probably be at the top if that was released in 06.

The new Pearl Jam blows the fuck out of anything I've ever heard in my entire life so yeah it EASILY takes #1.

The new Chili Peppers is awesome, and the new Tool is sweet.

I've yet to listen to the new Goo Goo Dolls, though I just got it today.

Pearl Jam-it took me a while to get there. Otherwise, I would have had to say Josh Rouse's "Subtitulo", which I like substantially more than Wolfmother, Tool, RHCP, Neil (like what he's saying; not how he's saying it), etc.

I am really, really looking forward to The Raconteurs on Tuesday though.

Hell yeah. Great to see motorpsycho back on form :)

But otherwise, I'd say Tool is the best so far, followed by Motorpsycho and Pearl Jam.

Pearl Jam - Pearl Jam followed very closely by Mudhoney - Under A Billion Suns. Both are amazing!! I hope the new Sonic Youth is as good as people say it is and equals these.
