Cornell is still able to deliver live but to put out the likes of Scream and Ground Zero he'd need to have this for breakfast every morning before hitting the studio http://www.glyni.org.uk/assets/images/Source/war%20on%20drugs2.jpg~*~*~*~*PROUD EVENFLOW PSYCHO #0026~*~*~*~*

Will definitely check that tonight.
Don't know if you guys were following Jeff's live chat last night but this made me laugh
"Steven, Worksop, UK: What's with Chris Cornell's new album Jeff? Is he ok?
Jeff Ament: (6:55 PM ET ) I know....I hope he is alright. "So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?0 -

If only they could hear our scream, and it is also safe to scream. C'mon people let's the cat out of the bag!0 -

yeah i would DEFINITELY be interested in what people who actually know him think about that new album.. i mean what do you say? Jeff got it right "hope he is okay because man, that shit is whack." On the other hand, i'm sure stone loves the new cornell album.0 -
facepollution - thanks for the link to the a capella JCP! wow.
Jeff's comment was funny. he said what we are all thinking in a nice way. LOL.
I'd want to hear more from his peers too on what they think. Recently, Tom Morello made a comment in an article http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/music/2008/11/21/2008-11-21_audioslaves_tom_morello_barack_obamas_se.html where there is what seems to take a dig at Cornell. Right after he is asked about the breakup of Audioslave he says “I’m not trying to sell ring tones”0 -

I think the Verizon adverts are the worst part of this whole Scream thing.
Anyway, let's all enjoy Pretty Noose a capella: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=lUAjNaBK9b0 I have no idea how these have come about, but I think it's pretty mad hearing just the vocals, he has such an incredible voice.0 -

The video doesn't contain blatant sexism and MTV fodder, it's a work of art. Go listen to your Soundgarden records." [/predicted Street Team bullshit]
I mean, holy shit, not only does Cornell look embarrsingly out of place in that video, it's not even well made - was there supposed to be a narrative to it?0 -

Oh that is just embarrassing. Just when you think it can't get any worse.
Hey Chris that bitch aint a part of ya - because she is 25 years younger than you!
I vote this the worst mid-life crisis I've seen in a long time.0 -

Thanks for that - I needed a good dose of that after that "part of me" video.0 -

You and me both.
And you're right, this is a hideously embarrassing mid-life crisis. When is he going to realise that this whole Scream project is one big fat turkey?! It doesn't matter how many videos he makes, or how many shows or adverts he manages to get his music in to, nobody's biting.
This whole thing is totally the result of his ego heading out of control. Compare him with Mark Lanegan - now there's a guy who likes to experiment, and pretty much everything he touches is golden. Critics love him, he has a hardcore fan base who embrace everything he does, and even if they don't like a particular project, people don't trash him because they know he's just trying new things. The difference with Cornell is that his version of 'trying something new', is to find the most mainstream producer he can and produce an album that's so tragically safe that it has come off as completely desperate. Then you add to that all the verizon adverts and fashion shows, and it's hardly surprising that his previously hardcore fan base are suddenly turning on him.
This new video is just......wow.....this guy used to be so fucking cool, and to see him looking so awkward in his own video is quite sad.0
