It's not about the lyric, it's about the tab...and I meant "fucker" the same way Ed does...in a playful way. You honestly think I am gonna insult you over a message board?...please.

Don't act like a penis...just accept that you were wrong about me insulting you.

Penis...wow. I won't accept that. Look ladies, I just finished my 4th appraisal report today. I have 3 more to look at and write up tomorrow. I'll leave this childish internet bickering to you kids. If you need me tomorrow, I'll be at the fucking bank cashing checks.

  • I love Radiohead. And I don't just say that because I want to be eclectic. I really truly love their music. It moves me, as music is supposed to do. I don't get why my liking something that someone else doesn't invokes the "you're trying to be eclectic" comment.

The same argument arises when vinyl is mentioned. Who cares if I like it and you don't. I'm not trying to be weird or different, I just like it.

That said, the new Radiohead vinyl is way cooler than the new Radiohead CD! :)

    EDIT**

Now that I think about it, only certain things would bring about the eclectic comment. I guarantee if this argument was about Queens of the Stone Age or some other band who had stayed on the long road to the middle, the word eclectic wouldn't have come up at all. But because it's Radiohead, a band who dared do something different, that's what it all of the sudden becomes.

I betcha an argument on Bjork would bring about the word eclectic too.

The thing that annoys me about alot of Radiohead fans is that they insist they love the 'Kid A' direction but won't then go and listen to more electronic/ambeient groups. It's like to them Radiohead created this sound and it sounds so unique to them because all their other records in their collection are guitar/rock based.

I swear if Radiohead did a classical album some fans would claim Radiohead invented orchestra music ;)

If you like 'Kid A' (Personally I hate it) go and explore other artists who have been making this type of music years before Radiohead decided to bring it to the indie kids.

I'm pretty sure name calling is frowned upon on here.

Post a picture of yourself. I wanna see who's talking to me like that....behind a computer monitor.

dude, i like your style. i do like radiohead as well though. sorry ;)

edit: unfortunately, since MASTODON spins in my car, you may not call me gay, even though i know you are dying to :)

I'm assuming that you haven't heard their harder stuff. Try 'Electioneering,' 'Paranoid Android,' 'Bodysnatchers,' and the likes.

    For sure. Fripp is neat.

Don't forget Myxomatosis. How anyone can listen to that song and not be moved, I don't know!
  • Somehow I missed the Radiohead boat. I can't really say I don't like them because all I have to go on really is Creep, which I liked back in the day.
I don't know, just seems that I've gotten the impression they were a bit weird for my tastes, either fairly so or unfairly so.

I'm always open, though, and so many people seem to like them so much on here, so if I was going to give them a try where should I start?

Try OK Computer, The Bends, and their latest In Rainbows. If you like those, Hail to the Thief, Kid A and the rest...

I would be interested in the more melodic and rocking ones as opposed to the ambient stuff apparently contained on 'Kid A'. Is The Bends the one Creep was on?

I'm not the biggest Radiohead expert, but yes I think so... OK Computer is also full of great melodic rock music. The new one is too, but it's a much more chilled out, atmospheric listen save a couple of tracks.. well recommended for long walks by the beach. I've tried it.

  • Creep was on Pablo Honey
  • With so much talk about In Rainbows going around I've very nearly bought it just to hear, but didn't feel the need to make a risk purchase around the holidays...of course, I guess I could have "bought" it for free like so many others apparently did when the name-your-price deal was going on
