It's effin fantastic!! I'm checking them in in MTL next week..can't wait
Stripes/Zep/Sabbath all mixed into one kickass high energy band!
Not sure I'm feelin the White Stripes reference, but that may be because I find them unlistenable... the White Stripes that is, Wolfmother rocks the house!
Which came first,
the bad idea or me befallen by it?
hate it. only heard one song, but it sucks! i don't like his voice!
Maybe listen to more than one song, not disrespecting you, but sometimes one listen won't do something justice. Most Pearl Jam albums need a couple listens through before it grows on you.

actually i heard 2, not 1.. and like i said, i don't like his voice, so i don't need to hear more. And i said in the other thread.. he sounds like a retarded version of jack white.
I hadn't heard of Wolfmother before but they were the first band at a music festival we went to yesterday (the Sasquatch Festival at the Gorge in Washington). We came in a little late but they sounded good... the stage was really crowded with gear for the other bands so they didn't have any room to move around. But they rocked and were definitely listenable for a three-piece without a bass player. The crowd (pretty small at that point) was definitely into them so they do have a following...

LOL. It took me a couple of listen's to get past his voice too actually. But it's definitely an album that grows on you

I just heard their song called "Woman" on the radio in the car and I was blown away by it. I was like "WTF??? A new band that's actually good? It can't possibly be..." lol. And being such a big fan of Classic Rock, Sabbath and Led Zep...I absolutely loved it. In an era when crappy emo music rules the airwaves, it was totally refreshing to hear this "new" classic rock. I salute these guys.
EDIT: yep. And after hearing what I heard, I'm definitely picking up their new album. Sounds promising.
But they rocked and were definitely listenable for a three-piece without a bass player.
Actually, they do have a bass player...although he does alternate between playing the bass on some songs, and playing the organ on the rest. The organ stuff is really cool, heavy...he even does some wah-drenched organ solos.
I saw them in Dallas last month at a small club and they f'ing blew everybody away. I bought the album at the show that night and have listened to it more times than any album for a long time. It's just pure out, balls-to-the-wall, good ol' rock and roll music. I just saw that they're actually opening for Pearl Jam at two shows on their European tour in August. I'm hopin' that they end up jamming together on a few songs.

Have played it on repeat now about three times. I really like it, sounds very old school rock, Led Zep, era and that can only be a good thing.
