I'm just glad they are etching side 4. That is the one thing that is missing from ...Like Clockwork. I know some might argue that they spread it out so much on that album because it was a 45RPM LP and it was best for the sound, but I'm not buying it, lol. It could have sounded just as good on 3 sides.

First is the fact that you have less vinyl per second towards the centre of a record, which means much data gets 'compressed', and some of the data gets 'glossed over' by your stylus, leading to a loss in audio definition. In addition to that, records are pressed on a parallel basis and read on an increasingly angled one as your tonearm pivots. This theoretically contributes to a loss in quality towards the centre of a record compared to the outside, though I have no idea the magnitude of that degradation. I know my dad had a fancy Audio Technica which had a motor in the tonearm which slid from the outside towards the centre (rather than just pivoting), but I'd be hard-pressed to hear a difference.
In any case, if the tracks are more-or-less evenly distributed, with a 48 minute runtime (based on Apple Music), you're looking at about 15 minutes per side, which should be more to your liking!'05 - TO, '06 - TO 1, '08 - NYC 1 & 2, '09 - TO, Chi 1 & 2, '10 - Buffalo, NYC 1 & 2, '11 - TO 1 & 2, Hamilton, '13 - Buffalo, Brooklyn 1 & 2, '15 - Global Citizen, '16 - TO 1 & 2, Chi 2

About 95% of the live shows I listen to from youtube are post ...Like Clockwork.
It seemed they really emphasized that album and played it for most part in its entirety. They had a few other random songs from other albums scattered in the setlist. Do you think they will follow the same formula this tour in playing Villains in its near entirety scatter few other songs from their catalogue? If so, what songs from ...Like Clockwork would make the cut? The album is brilliant front to end.Post edited by FrankY59 on0 -
This was my first headlining qotsa show (first show was at ozzfest in '00). This was very cool with Dave grohl on drums and mark lannegan came out for a few songs.

"I Appear Missing" only played once thus far in Oceania! Not looking good when they come to Detroit :( Then again I am certain the set list will completely change after August 25th.0

Hopefully not too much of a dance party. Entering Taylor Swift realm in her country to pop shift territory.0
