Well it's pumping through my Bose Series Quad sound right now I must say I'm being very critical here.....It's Solid more like damn good.

This is more of the Metallica the slow groovy, melodic, varied tempo driven thrash....old fucking School. The riffs between James and Kirk kind of remind of some Iron Maiden, this track passes the test going on the 10th time over. No catchy lyrics but it still works on repeated listening.

Lars kit sounds much better than the garbage can he played the last album. Time to crank it up a bit, let's if I can rattle the windows and make my neighbor frown and scowl like James. :)

Anyone know the name of the song that they play before Metallica come out on stage this year??

Its played before "Ecstasy of Gold" and sounds like Ac/Dc.

They definitely played it at Bonnaroo.

  • Try as I might, I can't get around that the lead singer is just not that good. Seems like he pretending to be a lead singer.

Back half of the song had good music.

I can and do occasionally for laughs. I don't find it hard to "sing" that way, I just don't like to.

There were some decent songs on St. Anger. I agree the songs were too long and St. Anger needed a different verse in there. On a whole i thought it sounded like a bunch of well produced demos. I can't wait for Death Magnetic and hopefully i'll get tickets for the O2 next month.

St. Anger is definitely a favorate of mine. Yeah the production could've been better, but I think they were going for that garage, raw sound to begin with. Don't understand all the hate it gets. Dirty Window always gets me going.

TDTNC sounds very promising. It has a little bit of their first 4 albums in it... in a good way.
  • Lars is such a terrible drummer...he really drags this song down. He needs to hang it up.

The song itself is okay; it's certainly not bad but it is a bit underwhelming.
There's really no memorable riffs or melodies; and towards the end you realize that it's an obvious re-write of "One" for the Load era. I'm really surprised that more people haven't noticed that.

I don't know...I'm still going to get the album. Why stop now?
