I just gave Baby 81 another listen today, but came away uder whelmed. Neil's Massy Hall gig is cool, but I've always prefered the various incarnations of Crazy Horse over anything else Neil does. Can't think of anything else I've picked up yet. Hopefully the new Cornell, White Stripes, and QotSA will impress me over the next few weeks.
Oh yeah, and Isbell's Sirens of The Ditch comes out in July. I've got high expectations for that one too.

Wincing the Night Away by The Shins. Era Vulgaris might take over when I hear it in June.
“Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you’ve got about a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies — ‘God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.’” - Kurt Vonnegut
I'm listening to Era Vulgaris right now and it is waaaaay better than their last one. Other than that, BRMC's Baby 81 was good, and I'll say Kaiser Chief's Yours Truly Angry Mob eventhough its totally bias because they're one of my favorite bands. Truthfully if you heard Employment, you've heard Yours Truly, but the album has some major riffs in it.
Writer's Block - Peter Bjorn and John
The Reminder - Feist
Neon Bible - Arcade Fire
Friend Opportunity - Deerhoof
Because of the Times by KOL is pretty good, but I was expecting something really different. I still like alot of the tracks, but track 2 has to go. I don't know how his screeching got passed everyone and put on the record. most off-putting vocal i've heard in awhile.
I still haven't heard the new Modest Mouse, Deerhunter, Dino Jr., Chris Cornell, and QOTSA albums yet.
Its dissapointing for me, compared with Funeral. Good follow up but nothing special really. No Cars Go is perhaps my favourite song by them to date but on the whole i think its a bit bland.
I actually prefer it to Funeral. I think of it kind of like I do Ten vs. Yield. Ten and Funeral have the anthemic songs, but Yield and Neon Bible are subtley amazing from start to finish. On Neon Bible, Keep the Car Running, Windowsill, and (Antichrist Television Blues) are my favorites.
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.
Modest Mouse-WWDBTSES. That album is going to be nearly impossible to top in the next half year. Viva Voce- Get Yr. Blood Sucked Out comes close but technically I think its a 2006 release.
Once in a while you can get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

"I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."
Chinese Democracy leaks. You've got Better, The Blues, Madagascar, Chinese Democracy, I.R.S., and TWAT. That's six songs that are better than aything on the latest NIN album. I'm looking forward to the Chemical Brothers album but that's about it for this year. I almost forgot The Doors remixed and remastered albums are really good.

You should be ashamed of yourself for praising anything new by that dickhead Axel Rose.
