Have we lost our way tonight?
Have we lost our hope to sorrow?

    So what are we becoming?

It's a toss up between Idlewild's 'Make Another World' and Dinosaur Jr's 'Beyond'

I think Idlewild just have it at the moment :)

When it first came out i was sure Neon Bible by Arcade Fire would be one of my favourites of the year, but having listened to it quite a lot i dont think its anything like as good as Funeral, although that was obviously going to be difficult. Its a decent follow up no doubt, but i find a few of the songs pretty boring actually. Definitely not as good as i first thought anyway.

Props to this - what a great record! They're doing a residency here next month, so I'm seeing them at least 3 more times this year! :D

So far, I'd have to say mine is Sky Blue Sky, although I'm expecting great things from the new Ryan Adams and the New Pornographers.

The Battles record is amazing, I was completely blown away by it. There's a lot of good stuff on the list, but I still have at least 15 or so records that have come out this year that I haven't listened to yet.

EDIT: I just counted. 32 more albums to go.

Arcade Fire's Neon Bible, and it really isn't close at this point. There have been some good albums, but nothing nearly as profound or stellar from beginning to end.
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.

Its dissapointing for me, compared with Funeral. Good follow up but nothing special really. No Cars Go is perhaps my favourite song by them to date but on the whole i think its a bit bland.
