oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Well the copy I got stops at track 12 for some reason ;) But overall I compare it to the Kanye "Graduation" album. It's very similar in feel. I like it, but I also like Weezy's metaphors, they're just crazy.

I liked the new NaS so far, It was getting slammed in the reviews so I waited a bit on it.

I didn't buy them, I stole them from the interwebs, but today I acquired Bacdafucup by Onyx, The Godz Must Be Crazy by the Demigodz, Stevie Wonder's Innervisions, The Unseen by Quasimoto and Curtis by Curtis Mayfield.

interesting. i dig kanye, but largely because of his humor and ego. i'm not a huge lyrics guy though, so i think lil wayne might be lost on me.

the nas album isn't bad, it just felt kinda mediocre for him. but i seem to be in the minority in really liking street's disciple and hip hop is dead. this new album has its moments, but some of it is just way too mellow for me. too much of that slick r&b production without the beats to make it interesting. it does have some great tracks though... hero, black president. even fried chicken cracks me up. lot of clever wordplay there.

sorry, didnt mean to get sidelined, back on topic:

tomorrow, the last cd i will have bought will be

    the verve- forth

Nas has been talking about doing a whole album with DJ Premier on production for years. Until he drops that, I think I'm pretty much done with him.

The beats on his new album are just cheesy. They don't fit with his whole "look at me, I've done street hood, mafioso, now I'm a political commentator" attitude. It's like hearing Kanye come out with some shit about Darfur.

Aye, it's a great album. I definitely prefer it to Songs in the Key of Life.
