Cornell/Timberland ticket sales disaster!

4 Cornell/Timbaland shows went on sale this morning in the tiniest venues possible without playing someones backyard or a local tavern.

12 hours later many tickets remain for the Seattle, Las Vegas, and Denver. Only the House of Blues Sunset Strip in Hollywood sold out today. But I am sure many held back for industry people will be on the market soon. These ticket were being sold for only $32.50 tops. Timbaland must be going crazy hearing about these poor sales. Who would have ever thought Cornell could not sell out the Showbox? in his hometown!

3 additional Cornell shows went on sale minus Timbaland. Ventura, San Diego and Anaheim. All small venues, all with tickets still available.

Pretty dismal for the what is supposed to be "the most anticipated album of the year"

Maybe his new fanbase hasn't gotten their allowance yet this week.
Once in a while you can get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right.
  • A foresight to the album sales
  • That's a shame. [/JERRY SEINFELD]

Of course the Sunset show would sell out quickly; it's Hollywood. And all about being in the house for whomever else might be in the house that night. I'd guesstimate perhaps half of those who bought tickets are actually in it to see Cornell. The rest, there for Timbaland and whomever else might be in the audience or on stage.

Must make connections, see and be seen. Even if it requires suffering through Scream.

  • Scream, you will alright lol, scream with laughter, scream with fear at what Cornell has diminished himself to, the sort of musician just years ago he used to ridicule.
Can not be arsed with life no more.

    lol!!

Seriously, nothing is worse than something faking something. Cornell is NOT in the mold of this Timbaland/Timberlake modern pop environment. He is turning his own fan base off and probably not attracting very many new fans.

Why aren't all the ONE TREE HILL fans buying up tickets???

"We came home last night to a killer response to the airing of the T.V. Show "One Tree Hill" which featured the title track from "Scream," a great reaction from old and new fans alike. You can download this song on Itunes. I am extremely proud of this new album and I look forward to people hearing it as it was intended by Timbaland and myself from beginning to end in one shot! It’s a must do. You ain’t heard nothin’ yet!!!! C" (from CC blog)
  • Uh... haven't really released a big single yet along with a video or anything yet so I don't see how sales could be good.

Other bands sell tickets on merit alone, they don't need a single or some sort of promotional kick to sell tickets.........

You do if it's a new project. You're average Soundgarden/Audioslave/Chris Cornell fan doesn't even know about this project with Timbaland yet.At least not in the UK

Come on, this is getting absurd. That was a completely legitimate justification. If you're going to be so vocal about Cornell's music then at least have the deceny to argue instead of dismissing anything positive as "streetteamer damage control."

guy with 3 posts trying to justify why Cornell ticket sales are horrid, come on , youre better than that.

isnt the showbox capacity like 1500 tops? CC management is desperate, putting this crap all over verizon ads, TV shows, wherever they can. No ones buying. Timbaland got his money up front from Cornell and I'm sure doesn't care about the pennies the tour will bring in. Its looking like they may lose money at this point. Im guessing Timbaland is starting to know what a giant failure this is and wants to wash his hands. They cant figure out how to promote something this bad thats why the album gets pushed further and further back.

Anyone think this is kinda sad? Soundgarden at the Tower in Philly (seating: just over 3,000) is still the loudest show I've ever seen. What has happened to this guy?

What the hell... I'm no street teamer, whatever that is... just because I have a good post and it happens to be defending Cornell I'm the scum of the earth? What the hell is this? I thought this was a pretty cool board too... and btw I'm a huge PJ fan I have all their albums and tons of bootlegs... I just don't post a lot.
