“It is curious that while good people go to great lengths to spare their children from suffering, few of them seem to notice that the one (and only) guaranteed way to prevent all the suffering of their children is not to bring those children into existence in the first place.”

In no particular order.
Metallica - "Master of Puppets" - Changed metal the second it came out and has changed rock music in general very drastically (sp?) over the last 20 years. The greatest album ever in my opinion.
Rancid - "Life Won't Wait" - Some of the best pure rock and roll records come from punk bands trying to test their boundries. Tim Armstrong is a brilliant song writer.
Foo Fighters - "The Colour and the Shape" - Perfect pop / rock songs.
Danzig - "Danzig III: How the God's Kill" - Glen Danzig's best album.
Slayer - "Reign in Blood" - There's not been a record since that is this heavy and still so listenable.
Jimmy Eat World - "Clarity" - I'm sure alot of folks will disagree with this one, but the fact that I still listen to it pretty regularly after almost 10 years is why I've included it.
Face to Face - "Ignorance is Bliss" - This record has a similar place in my heart as JEW's "Clarity" or Rancid's "Life Won't Wait" in that I'm sure that most people wouldn't agree with it being on a list like this. Hell, most Face to Face fans hate it. But it's almost 10 years old and I listened to it yesterday so...
Mastodon - "Blood Mountain" - A fairly new release that is, in my opinion, already a classic metal album. They are also the best live band I've ever seen.
The Promise Ring - "Wood / Water" - The most beautiful collection of songs I've ever heard.
Black Sabbath - "Black Sabbath" - The reason half of the records I've included on this list even exist.
If I were to do this list tommorow, it could change quite a bit. This is stuff off the top of my head that I consider to be either land mark records or ones that had a long term effect on how I listen to music. AIC's "Dirt", GNR's "Appitite for Destruction", COC's "Blind" or "In the Arms of God", etc. could easily be included.
I Omitted P.J. from this list because I really think that you have to see them live to fully appreciate their studio material. I love "Yeild", "Vs." and "Vitalogy" and this has alot to do with seeing some of the songs performed live. There are some boots that I could include in the top 10 as well.Raleigh 1992 - Raleigh 2003 - Charlotte 2003 - Asheville 2004 - Lollapolooza 20070 -
Smashing Pumpkins: Siamese Dream and Mellin Collie0
