Supposedly 2007 will be the year of new Crowes material atleast that is what they are claiming.

NEW STUDIO ALBUM—THEIR FIRST IN SIX YEARS—IS ON TAP FOR 2007

Management for THE BLACK CROWES has confirmed that CHRIS and RICH ROBINSON have been in the studio in New York and Los Angeles working on material for a new album.

Pete Angelus, the band’s longtime manager, reveals that the album is expected to be released sometime in 2007. It would mark THE BLACK CROWES’ first album of new studio material in six years.

"From the inception of their reunion,” says Angelus, “Chris and Rich have written a substantial amount of material which they have been sorting through recently with friend and producer Paul Stacey. We expect to continue recording at the conclusion of the fall tour and are planning for a 2007 release."

Angelus said that it remains undecided whether or not the record will be released through a major label or if they will choose to release the record independently.

    Good news!

By the way, here is the link for their official downloads for anyone interested: http://downloads.instantlive.com/bc/

  • damn, i didnt know that! how much are tickets?

    Nice ID!! Awesome song.

Fifth row in front of Rich Robinson who is a vastly underrated guitarist. 3 hours. All smiles on stage. Rich seemed to really enjoy helping Paul Stacey. The new guys weren't perfect but they were pretty damn good; some good jamming. Amazing how they have learned so many songs already; I was expecting a greatest hits show.

Love Amorica so it was awesome. Sunflower, Nonfiction, A Conspiracy in a row kicked balls. Really dig Another Roadside Tragedy and By Your Side also.

I am a Marc and Ed fan so I hope they land on their feet.

  • Rich is definitely an underrated guitarist. Have you heard his solo album? The vocals are a little bland, but the guitar work is awesome.

My wife and I must have been standing right behind you or very close. I had an aisle seat and it got real interesting when the Va students filled the aisle. A few brief skirmishes (pushing/shoving) but glad cooler heads prevailed. The girl sitting next to my wife walked to the front and was one of the girls that jumped onstage. Crazy.

Going through serious BC withdrawal. Gald the BC dig playing in NC and Va. BC Asheville shows were awesome. Nice Stipe sig also.

Cool..were you the couple that knew all the words to the new songs?? If you were, I was the guy in front of you guys that kept giving you the verbal high fives. Going to either of the DC shows?

No I haven't . Thanks for the recommendation, will check it out. I like when Rich sings when I've seen them live "Fearless", "Cripple Creek" and "Let It Be Gone" is awesome especially how he sings the line "Ooh baby you're driving me crazy".

Have been listening to alot of Lost Crowes, Tool and AIC because of upcoming concerts but will check Rich's solo stuff soon.

I have only seen six shows beginning in 05. First 3 times right in front of Marc which is amazing. The last three times in front of Rich - I just stood there with my jaw on the floor thinking god damn this guy is smooth and can play. My wife feels the same although I think she also has a crush on Rich.

    Peace

I would love to say that we were the couple that knew all the lyrics to Lost Crowes but it wasn't us. I was the idiot that was yelling Hell Yes! when they played A Conspiracy. If you are one of the two guys in the first photo, I saw y'all walking around before the show. We happened to get there early from Winston-Salem and heard some of their soundcheck.

I actually wish that Lost Crowes had been released before I saw them for the first time at the Disco Rodeo in 05 - played Paint an 8 and Peace Anyway and many others at shows I have seen. In Charlottesville, we were 101, row 5, seats 1 & 2.

Really wish I was going to DC but do to financial constraints and already having purchased tickets for Tool in DC on 9/30, can't do it. Really wish I had gone to the Norva show, had tickets but something came up. Let me know how the DC shows were.

Marc Ford leaving the Black Crowes is devestating. He was the main ingrediant that made this comeback worth while. I am a huge Crowes fan, but Marc Ford leaving the band is equivilent to Mike McCready leaving PJ. Crushing!

Dude...I am so not the mullet guy or the drunk groover guy. LMAO! I was on the right in front of Rich on the 3rd row...but there were no seats in front of me..just the stage ..so it was kinda like front row.

Chris Robinson is the skinniest guy ever. Last year on my birthday I was outside where I work (major shopping area in Boston) and I see this little skinny guy coming towards me with a huge Sailor's coat and these funky jeans and a huge beard. I didn't feel like bothering him but at the last second he looked over at me and smiled so I just say "hey whats up" and he waved and kept going. Im pretty sure I was the only one there who knew who he was. but hes sooooooo skinny. its crazy. good birthday present though!
  • Anyone dig 'em?

    i do...i fucking do.

    such a good live band
  • They have a live CD coming out on Tuesday, "Freak N Roll, Into the Fog". It's the same show that they released the DVD for last year, this is just the audio version, but I highly recommend it. I've got the DVD and can't wait to get the CD so I can put it on my iPod. I think you get a bonus track if you buy it at Walmart.
  • The show was awesome! Landmark Theatre in Syracuse September 13. Crowd was a little mellow, set was amazing. I definately recommend a show if you can catch one. The guys were on fire, they are really coming together quite nicely. I'm thinking about going to the Rochester show in November.

Sooooooo....the crowes are on an indefinite hiatus (which blows since they're my second favorite live band after PJ). However, Rich Robinson is playing bumble fuck Long Island on 8/17 and the Chris Robinson Brotherhood is playing NYC on the 18th (Chris has the 17th off and Rich has the 18th off). Hmmmm. I figure it's more likely for Rich to join Chris in the city than Chris to trek out to the South Shore. Only problem, the 18th is my gf's bday and a CRB concert is definitely NOT on the menu. Do I chance it and go see Rich on the 17th (don't love his solo stuff that much) or blow off both shows (and no, blowing off my gf's bday is not an option as there will be much less blowing all thru the year).?!? Decisions decisions.
