I hope this makes sense. Let me know if you try it! If you're nervous, I suggest starting with an Ames Jon Tester Missoula print if you haven't already used it to test Bradbury's understanding of fahrenheit.

How do add pictures to a post?0

EddieBetterMan wrote:How do add pictures to a post?
Upload pictures to Photobucket, edit/resize picture to less than 480 high and 640 wide, check replace original, press save, copy/paste img code into forum (or right click on the picture and click copy url then click

Hey all,
I just got my hands on the PJ20 Billboard print and I want to get this professionally framed. I am a complete noob to custom frame jobs, wondering if I could get some advice on things like glass, mounting, mats, etc. How much would you say is the avg. cost for one poster?

Having it done at a shop or ordering a a setup from say americanframe.com and taking care of it yourself? Glass is expensive, UV plexi is cheaper, regular plexi is even cheaper(if you are putting it up in say a basement no real need for the UV). Number of mats, metal or wood frame, how ornate the frame is, everything adds up.
PS If they tell you that they have to "drymount it" find a new store."Populated with every reject and cutthroat from Bombay to Calcutta. It's worse than Detroit."0 -

thanks! I would like to have it done at a shop. There a smaller local place around where i live and michael's. I've heard mixed reviews about michael's, so I'd be a little nervous giving them the billboard print.
I'm hanging the poster in a bedroom with a lot of natural sunlight so I've heard going the conservation glass route is the best way to go (probably more expensive)
What are the other mounting options if they don't drymount it?1998-06-27 Alpine Valley, WI / 2000-10-08 Alpine Valley, WI / 2003-06-21 Alpine Valley, WI / 2003-04-26 Mellon Arena, PA / 2004-10-03 Grand Rapids VFC, 2006-05-17 United Center, IL / 2006-06-29 Milwaukee, WI / 2006-06-30 Milwaukke, WI / 2011-09-03 Alpine Valley PJ20 / 2011-09-04 Alpine Valley PJ20 / 2013-07-19 Wrigley Field / 2014-10-19 St. Paul / 2014-10-20 Milwaukee, WI

I had to share these.. We framed quite a few of these over the weekend,
The green mat was the right choice... So happy with it!
Love this poster. Has to be my favorite.
Gold mat works perfect! Going to look great in the kitchen0 -

I'm a bit late to thread, but I have to say, this is an awesome piece of memorabilia and really well-done. Congrats!
Of course, it makes me even more pissed that I missed out on this poster at the show and the subsequent 10c sale
I actually had the idea (while standing in line for 5 hours outside of Wrigley) to do exactly this sort of thing, but on a smaller scale and with the pennant instead of a show poster. Alas, I missed out on the pennant as well, but I'm hoping it makes its way to the shop at some point. Would've also been cool with the patches they were selling post-show as well. I did have the opportunity to buy those, but for some unexplained reason, I passed :fp:
Anyways, nice job again!0 -
