You dry mount these bad boys? They look awesome!

  • Yeah, had them dry mounted. I know most poster collectors would probably take me out back and shoot me but I don't part with my posters so dry mounting them is no loss to me. They look so friggin good!! Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it!!!

I guess for me, it's not so much about never getting rid of them (because I wouldn't either) but more about preserving the art, but anyway, they are yours to do with what you will.

In what way is dry mounting better, in your opinion?
  • The only difference I've noticed is that they lay very flat without any wrinkles to distort the display. They appear very crisp. I suppose you could achieve that without dry mounting them but it would be more difficult. I haven't been able to bring myself to do it with a signed and numbered poster yet though...

Ah, I dont see mine there.

I need to get a few better pics, those dont do those justice. The setup/framing is stellar. In fact, I have 3 different friends who have seen them and have started to acquire and frame prints on their own.

Fuck. I have a Worcester I, II, Boston, 7/3/03 and Hartford Poster that I need to frame. I have a cracker jack sitting in the tube that I regret buying since I didn't go to the show.

QUESTION to those that read this thread....

Framed posters with or without ticket stubs?

I am struggling with this one...

On one hand...with a stub...maybe something else in there on the matting below..maybe the set list...I dont know.

On the other hand...does all of that take away from the ART?

    Opinions welcome.

    Thanks!

just my opinion. I think the ticket stub looks great if there is matting around it. I have seen some great pieces in this thread that have the poster, and a little below the print the stub is there with a mat outline (making the ticket standout). Not a fan of just placing the stub in the frame and covering up some of the print or matting

To ME...concert posters are about more than the ART.
They bring back GREAT MEMORIES of the MUSIC & PEOPLE I meet at the shows.
I've put Wristbands, Stickers, Tickets, Setlists, Programs, City Postcards, Baseball cards, Special Passes, & other souvenirs, as well as pictures of the Venues & Band Members in the frames with my posters.
Bottom line for me is It's YOUR poster...do whatever YOU want!!

Definitely putting the Pittsburgh stubs in with the poster, since they are so cool looking. Won't be putting my print at home from Buffalo in the frame - maybe taped to the back!

Taking Pitt to the framers tomorrow - can't wait it get it back. One of my favorites.
