I noticed some of you have your posters autographed by various members in the band. I collect autographs and was wondering how you went about getting them. I have a poster I'd love to get signed and get it framed and have it hanging in my room. Thanks
Looks awesome. I need to get this one framed also.

Yeah u cant really see the texture of the frame but it does suit the rustic timber in the print..
It was only 20 bucks from a reject shop it was a 70x50 frame and cost 20 bucks to get the card cut...
for 40 bucks it was good.. better than being rolled or flattened waiting to get framed by a proper

Thanks aus_suz, I was planing on a black frame but have now changed my mind. I also like the colour of the mat you chose.
Thats ok...yeah matte is kinda a blueish grey gun metal colour goes well with his head armour, gun the blue in the speaker and his shirt... The lady in the shop talked me out of doing a black matte...Im pleased she did.
She also talked me out of using a black matte around the Kangaroo one from night 2 Melbourne.
I wished she had talked me out of using a black matte and frame around the EV solo blue one tho..
I regret getting that done the way I did.. :( I think it cost about $140 too :(
I wanna change that so to match the framing of my Newcastle ccfa poster... one day I guess

after lurking around this thread for a few years I have finally having my first poster framed, but when I got home I realised I didn't ask what type of glass they use, also it is being glued down I think, so it can't be removed.. Is that drymounting... what is drymounting
What is important, what should I ask for????

Hi MJ,
What kind of glass did you want? The three most popular glass types are "regular", "Conservation" and "Museum". It looks like you're from Australia, so things may be a little different for you.
From my understanding, TruVue brand glass products (who make Conservation and Museum) have always been prohibitively expensive in Australia, so while technically available, they may not have offered it to you because of how much higher it is in Oz, compared to the US. However I believe that just recently, in the last couple of weeks actually, that Conservation and Museum glass have now become available in Oz for a more reasonable price than before, because an Oz frame supplier named Megawood has merged with a large US supplier Larson Juhl, which means that the prices for Museum and Conservation Glass on the wholesale level dropped 30% to 50% in Oz. ...so, I'd recommend calling them up and asking them which glass, and if they say "regular" then ask how much more for "Conservation". If the price difference is huge, then ask if Conservation Glass became less expensive in the last couple of months. If they say "no" then they probably have not yet adjusted for the decrease in TruVue products... and it's up to you whether or not to pay for the upgrade. Conservation and Museum glass has a 99% UV filter. This will help prevent your poster from fading. Conservation looks almost identical to regular to the naked eye. Museum glass has identical UV protection to Conservation, but gives back less than 1% reflection, though the price is very expensive.
...now about the drymounting...
Drymounting is PERMANENT. It means you can never (typically) get that poster back to the loose state of paper again... I don't recommend it because it can decrease the value of the poster - however it will keep it flat, since it will be essentially gluing it down. But if you were ever to try to sell the poster, you would probably not get as much after its drymounted. I'd recommend they instead use photo-corners which are clear plastic, and they simply hold the poster on all four corners in pockets, and if at any point you want the poster back to the sheet of paper, it'll take a framer 5 minutes to take it apart and get it back to its original condition. You can always in the future choose to drymount a poster, but you can't go back once you do.
Also you want to ask them if they are using "conservation matting" or at least "acid free matting" as well as "acid free foamboard". These are very important as well. If they say "no", ask them what they are using (including brand) and I'll let you know if it's ok. I don't check this thread often, but happened upon your request... so if you post back and don't hear from me, pm me then.
...ok, back to the craziness of holiday framing, and pj radio!
Cheers!
