the experience sucked, I tried repeatedly for both shows, spent the first half hour trying to get into the goods section had the buy button a number of times for both shows but then showed out of stock. i'm sure the same people are always getting the difficult tickets because they know how the system works, not really a fair system but that's life. hopefully I"ll be able to get ticketmaster tickets otherwise i will have to pay an arm and leg to somebody on ebay or stubhub.
Got tix, but this was a pretty bad experience. Not as bad as others, but then again I've been complaining about 10 club's server since they sold the Wachovia 05 show the same way and the servers were crashing then.
its the field of buying tickets
you get in line and fire away, the quicker the computer the faster it hits the site.
I was in right away and got tix for night 1
night 2 i had to go through the crash, than the half pages, than the broken goods page, than the temp out of stock page
than i was in, it reminds me of waitng in line but fighting for your spot.
I got both but man it was rough. The 1st was easy but the 2nd one was bad. I had to refresh a ton of times and finally it got stuck in step 3.
i got both nights too, but it took a LOT of persistence. night 1 took 20 minutes with relatively no problems other than having to refresh 50 times a minute.
night 2 was far worse... i got a pair immediately at 2:01, entered my cc info and waited... and waited. i knew i was in trouble when i didn't get a conf screen so i had to start over. it took a few minutes to get back in but when i did, my pair of tix were still there. same thing; entered cc info and waited for confirmation.... once again it timed out, and this time it also logged me out. took a while to get back in, i got this funky message saying that there was a great deal of traffic but no data had been lost, which gave me hope that once i was able to log in again, my tix would still be in my cart. no such luck, but i kept refreshing, finally accessed the ticket page, entered my cc info one more time and hoped for the best. nearly timed out again, however i could tell by the characters in the address bar that the transaction did go through, even though my confirmation screen was blank. i went over to my other computer, logged into my profile, and saw the order there. it took 40 minutes or so, but i had expected that, after camden took me 17 minutes yesterday. it's all about perseverence, don't give up till there is no longer an icon for the show you want.
that reminded me of the Vic sale. Luckily i got tix for that and both MSG shows too. Was not easy though. I didnt think it was gonna be that bad after how smoothly camden and DC went. Anyone think Boston is gonna be this crazy?
I hope it's not this bad. Cause I'll be trying for tix.
Sorry to say but I did not have any problem at all.. No Internet problems, pages crashing, payment troubles..Nice and easy..

I didn't have a problem, I got them right away at about 12:01. But soon after that it the site was screwed up so I was lucky I guess. It's nice since I haven't seen them since the 2003 tour.
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.
How is that different than having people log in at the same time with a server that allows some to get in and not others? It isn't as though the current system picks winners and losers on anything other than timing, which is more or less luck.
suppose people cant be on line at the time they go on sale?
suppose someone is computer illiterate ve someone who knows some tricks?
I tried for MSG show 1 for about 20 minutes and I couldn't even get into the website. I kept hitting the refresh button and still couldn't get in for about 20 mins. Once I finally got in, the tickets were sold out!
For the first show I kept clicking but to no avail. For the second show I couldn't even get onto the website. Terrible. Thankfully my partner in crime got tickets to both shows, otherwise I'd be sh*t out of luck.

I thought the world...Turns out the world thought me
suppose people cant be on line at the time they go on sale?
suppose someone is computer illiterate ve someone who knows some tricks?
suppose someone has dial up and not a fat line
and and and...
But no matter what time they go on sale, you may not be available at that time. This isn't 98 when you mailed in your form - no one does that anymore. Someone who is computer illiterate has bigger problems than getting PJ tickets (and there are no real tricks that substantially help anyone). It does put you at a slight disadvantage if you have dial up, but the vast majority of people have access to DSL or broadband. It isn't the 10C job to babysit you through the process.
I'm not saying the current system is perfect, and I certainly understand that people are upset when they try to get tickets for an hour but are shut out (it has happened to me). I'm just saying people act as though 10C has the worst system when it is not really any different anything anyone else uses.
Got tix for both MSG and I'm extatic about it! So sorry for those who didn't make it, but hey, you'll get the tix either through the pit (some people are already offering their 2nd ticket) ot through Ticketmaster.
It was easy for MSG1 and took more time and nerves for MSG2 but it was nowhere near the London 2007 experience. The wife and I spent 6 (yes, SIX) hours clicking 'refresh' that time!!! The whole site crashed, 10c were sending us e-mails to be patient and bare with them while they work it out, we kept clicking and after 6 hours we made it. In the process, they 'reserved' the funds on our credit card a million times and blocked the card (but the card was not charged so we worked it out with the bank easily but we still had to show them an e-mail from 10c that they had no intention to charge us for those unsuccessful attempts), we ended up having to charge the tix to our friend's card...
So yes, it can be A LOT worse! But the London show was great, with the whole floor reserved for 10c so we forgot 'the tickets disaster'. I'm sure you'll all feel the same after the MSG shows and good luck to those who didn't get the tix yet!
I found it extremely harrowing, stressful and swear worthy, myself. Got booted as soon as I clicked BUY for night 1, took 32 minutes to check out with my tickets for night 2 after about 100 refreshes. I am SOOOOOooooooOOOOOOOOOOOO scared for tomorrow when Mansfield goes on sale....
Underneath this smile lies everything...How I choose to feel, is how I AM!

longing for the days of when they did it by snail mail. . .that was rough. . .its like the site was melting down before my eyes. .. got all the way to where they ask you for your credit card info and then it went boom and i had to start all over again. . .took me over 1/2 hour but was able to get tix
i have wished for so long, how i wish for you today

The ONLY problem with this system is the influx of people trying to get tickets. The servers that the tenclub has cannot handle it at all and that's obviously clear. These problems can be fixed though.
This is what they need to do...
1.) Invest in a brand new server that will be able to handle mass ticket sales. Honestly it's not THAT expensive to purchase something that can get the job done efficiently. It's just got to be fast (top end processor and lots of memory)
2.) Put the goods section on this new separate server by itself. This would help immensely because the forum server would be separate from the goods server and people logging in to proclaim that they are pissed off or happy that they did or did not get tickets wouldn't effect those purchasing tickets. There was well over 800 members logged in at noon today... this did not help matters.
3.) Implement a different shopping cart system. The current one is good for buying a shirt or whatever but for things that are sensitive like purchasing tickets or renewing a membership, it's a tad bit dated (I work in the field of web design and programming so that gives me a bit of credibility, yeah?)... they need something more advanced than the hit or miss task of clicking and hoping you were faster than everyone else. Other things like letting us store credit card info in our profile could also be implemented.
I know all of these things will go unnoticed but it's worth a shot.
I didn't try for today, but now I'm wicked nervous about tomorrow!
everyone thinks hartford's gonna be a cakewalk, but sooo many people are trying for MSG/Hartford/Mansfield trifecta.
Oh well, if I don't get fan clubs for Mansfield I'll just get tickets through another route. It is shitty not to get fan club tix though. Back when they did everything on paper, didn't every fan club member who got the request in on time get them?
this time was so so so much better than Verona 2006!!!! there's always issues like this with ALL ticket sites if the demand is there...... happens all the time guys.. it's PAINFUL believe me I know but that's life I guess..
It's true... I have a nice system actually, but I was discouraged during MSG1... I tried to clear my temp files and cookies and it prevented me from getting MSG1's, but I did land night 2.
4/12 is TM and then, at risk of bastardizing from 10C members, there are still scalper tickets.
Could care less. I bet my TM tickets for night 1 (and I will land them) are better than my 299XXX tickets for night 2. Furthermore, my cousin has 166xxx and didn;t get either show. We discussed what a waste his number becomes as a result of my 299xxx getting tickets...
So... they've (10C members) "bibelized" (i'm not googling the proper spelling)" 10C tickets, but there are better out there. Maybe when I have time I'll post my shows since I'm a joke because my show list isn't posted and I have 10 posts. lol. There's enough "I'm better than you" shit in the world right now, let's not turn this into a war for tickets. Whoever WANTS to be there will be there (at the Garden)
I'm rambling but, I said to my buddy on the phone today, even getting tickets to your favorite band has become stressful. So...
enjoy the show(s). We'll all be there one way or another.
"One just escapes, one's left inside the well... and he who forgets will be destined to remember"
Um, hi! Now you can appreciate what us West Coasters went through...and ALL the shows went on sale at the same time. Yeah, good times.
All of the 2006 European shows went on sale at the same time and most of the 2007 European shows did as well. Also, only North American 10c members could get tix for the EV solo tour so there was less people trying for tickets (although there were less tickets so that evens it out, probably).
I'm not saying this to counter your post in any way or minimize the experience you all went through. We're just trying to tell you how it was in the last two years on our side of the pond.
Could be that's why Europeans complain less...we're used to this kind of torture...:D
20 years ago I waited out all night in NYC in 20 degree weather in line at a Ticketmaster outlet to score tickets to the Grateful Dead at East Rutherford. 1 of the shows was already sold out when I got to the front, the 2 shows I got tickets to my seats were in the nosebleeds. People behind me, practically with me, were shut out.
5 hours ago I sat in the warmth of my office, clicked a button for about 3 minutes, got bounced around a little but by 12:03 had 2 tickets to MSG 1. And actually was lucky because as I tried for MSG 2 tickets, I kept hitting the buy button and the back browser button until I did actually have MSG2 in my cart.
I know these things are anxiety-provoking, but come on people. What we deal with is nothing compared to the way ticket-buying experiences used to be.

I agree and had the same bad experience. This system screens for people who don't have work obligations and have a fast internet connection. It sucks.
