The shift in this special election, signifies a wider shift across the country. Add in it being a midterm, and the money spent and vibes, a blue wave and taking back the senate and house is entirely possible. Its difficult, no doubt. But you keep talking about how you don't see it happening and I'm just saying, handwringing accomplishes nothing.

    Thats all I'm saying.

Wikipedia has a good page on upcoming 2026 senate elections. Based on the PVI column (I sorted by political lean), Dems need to win the three blues, the one white, and then 3 from the republican PVI, including holding GA. I missed Collins, she’s up in the blue section, so they need to defeat her also. Anyone saying “I think it’s going to be competitive” is not saying how when where or why. The fundamental democratic problem is they’re becoming less competitive in a majority of states. Dems just like to rant and criticize. It’s moved from Epstein to the drug boat fiasco. Definitely issues of bad R leadership, but don’t exactly lead to building a base with ideas that will transform politics or move a few states being less loyal to the Rs.
