Since Monday, Collier has entered a new existence, eating, sleeping and working from the locked chamber after she refused to acquiesce to Republican demands that Democrats agree to around-the-clock security escorts to be released from the building.
Now she's the subject of an around-the-clock live video feed, at her own party's choosing. Tuesday afternoon, more of Collier's colleagues returned to the statehouse to stand with her in solidarity.

This is so fucked up. It's happening. Trump is forming his own personal army with ICE, apparently slowly taking over cities with the military - a military that has been showing onvious signs of becoming political, and a DOJ and Pentagon seemingly helpless against being controlled by Trump, along with a Supreme Court majority in the adminitration's pocket. These aren't just crazy actions by an unhinged President... I mean, they are, but they are also completely in your face actions that tell us without doubt that the Trump administration is trying to take military control of the country.So... what exactly are Americans going to do about this? Is this just going to go ahead just like it did in Germany or what? Is everyone there really going to just sit back and assume that something will change next year? Should I assume that the answer is, "what are we supposed to do about it?" I honestly don't know..... I feel like maybe a society that allows insurance companies to make life or death medical decisions probably won't stop anything? I'm just overall disturbed and confused by everything. Rather than Nazi Germany this is a lot more like what happened to South and Latin America in the 70s and 80s thanks to our interventions militarily and economically. Now the chikens are coming home to roost and visit those failed experiments on the homeland it seems. This will end in a disaster for sure, but I feel like luckily these decisions are being made by devious idiots rather than well educated devious conservative idealogues like back then. For some it will be hard to make too much of a stand because people fear reprisal. Its hard to really do anything considering how stacked everything is against dissent down here. I think there is a combination of things happening. Ignorance, outright support, and generally waiting it out.
Thanks to Milton Friedman, the Heritage foundation etc. America has drifted in a Authoritarian Christian fascist Conservative direction. Although this was all caused by lies and distortions of the truth its where we are. I think its going to have to get really bad for the people that voted for this shit to realize they were lied to.
And part of the problem has been neo liberalism's ideological takeover of the dem party. Which has led to a corporate vs worker based party. All the lecturing about how good the economy is doesn't help the people that can't pay the bills. Remember when all of the intervention was happening in South America and people were facing famines and couldnt afford food and were being unemployed and disappeared, those countries were doing great according to economists. Pinochet was seen as a hero by western leaders even up to his death.
By slowly eroding the trust of the working class the liberal party has allowed their former base to be led astray by lies and tricked into voting against their interests. I would say going high when they go low was never a very good strategy.
Can't help but bring up how Newt and El Rushbo(may he rot in hell) began calling democrats enemies, criminals communists and starting the avalanche that led us to Trump.
