    after a couple of weeks i have gotten used to the new forum. it seems to be loading faster now, so that has been good. i just wish we had a way to go back to the threads page without having to scroll all the way back up, but that is something i have gotten used to as well. i don't think it is a bad change now.

    I'm glad to hear that, my friend, these forums are a better place for you being here.

    For me, it still loads very slowly and I still have trouble finding my way around.  In fact, at this point, pretty much all I do is log on here to see if someone has sent me a personal message.   Sadly, that's about it, so I'm definitely drifting out of the loop here.  I really miss the old forums.  It was a great place for me to be for many years.

    Some suggestions for anyone who has the power to change things:

    -increase the thickness of the dividing lines between posts so it’s easier to tell them apart
    -reduce the amount of padding on posts, that’s making them take up way too much of a screen (especially on mobile)
    -when a user scrolls up, don’t just show the navigation bar, also show the breadcrumbs that people can use to get back to a specific category. Currently, you have to scroll all the way to the top of the page
    -get rid of argumentative people who show little or no respect, hijack threads to speak diminutively to each other, or are purely here to derail discourse (aka trolls)

    These sound like good ideas, Ben.

    These days, I only get on here to check my personal messages and maybe peak at threads I've followed (particularly this one).  

    I really miss interacting with you fine folks, so I hope things change here  because at this point, I find this site layout to be irritating, and I don't enjoy getting on the internet to be irritated.  And I'm sure no one enjoys seeing me get on the internet just to be bitching.  Until this improve here, I will mostly stay away, so I truly hope things do improve.  

    Making matters worse, my health issues are such that more and more, the internet is my main source of socializing (pathetic as that may sound).  I've basically lost this place and, because Zuckerberg has allowed Facebook to become a place of depraved perversion, I've cut way back on that place. Thank God for the Hoffman site.

    OK, enough of "pity poor me".  You all take good care!

    But I still like a Dark Mode option.

    Thanks, I appreciate the encouragement!  I suppose if nothing else, I could stick around and see if the next forum format change works better for me.  I find this one confusing to use.  But then, these days, almost everything is a bit confusing to me.
