I saw Ozzy for the first time on the Bark at the Moon tour...I was just trying to remember who opened and it was Motley Crue but I didn't see them. We must have been late or something.

Crazy. I honestly can't believe he was only 76. He's seemed beyond old for over 20 years. Sex, drugs and rock & roll man. Some great music over the years.
    It's a hopeless situation...

    Man, this does suck!

The man was just on stage just a short while ago. Amazing he was able to sing what he did.

    RIP Ozzy.

From Mike on Pearl Jam's social:

"Sad to hear Ozzy died today. When I was in high school I discovered Sabbath. “War Pigs” was terrifying and mesmerizing at the same time. It was Ozzy’s voice that took me away to a dark universe. A great escape. Then when The ‘Blizzard of Ozz’ record came out I was instantly a fan. Randy Rhoads was an influence on me to play lead guitar. Luckily I got to play on the song “Immortal” on the last record. Thanks for the music, Ozzy it makes our journey in life better."

I'm not much of a Jack Black fan these days, but goddammit he knocked Ozzy's R&R HOF induction speech out of the park. I highly recommend watching... even if you've seen it, it's worth a re-watch.

Ozzy Osbourne, the frontman of Black Sabbath, died today, at 76. Osbourne—along with half of the musicians in Led Zeppelin and the key members of Judas Priest—was raised in Birmingham and its suburbs, surrounded by the wreckage of Germany’s attacks on Britain’s manufacturing centers. In “Louder than Hell,” an oral history of heavy metal, Osbourne said, “When I was a kid, I was hungry. I had my ass hanging out of my pants and I hated the fucking world. When I heard the silly fucking words, ‘If you go to San Francisco, be sure to put a flower in your hair,’ I wanted to fucking strangle John Phillips [of the Mamas and the Papas]. I was sitting in the industrial town of Birmingham, England. My father was dying of asbestos from industrial pollution and I was an angry young punk.” Read more about the birthplace of heavy metal: https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/rVZCJO

I just can’t believe it! My dear dear friend Ozzy has passed away only weeks after our show at Villa Park.

It’s just such heartbreaking news that I can’t really find the words, there won’t ever be another like him. Geezer, Bill and myself have lost our brother.

My thoughts go out to Sharon and all the Osbourne family. Rest in peace Oz. Tony

Goodbye dear friend- thanks for all those years- we had some great fun. 4 kids from Aston- who’d have thought, eh?

So glad we got to do it one last time, back in Aston.

    Love you.
