    My dog hated wearing the cone of shame. Hopefully Bella doesn't need it too long.

    And that vet definitely isn't up to snuff. As Jose said, after surgery she should have had at least 10 days antibiotics.

    Hopefully in a week or 2 the cone is long gone, she's all healed, and she is back to dancing and prancing.

    Yeah, the cone is a necessary evil, most animals hate the things. Sounds like she is doing well when it's off so that's a great sign. Once she ditches it for good, she'll hopefully be happy and back to her old behavior.

    Is putting Bella on a lead in the garden after she has recovered an option? I know cats don't generally like that and it's more of a dog thing but could be preferable for her to being in the play pen.
