On a new album - It didnt sound to me that they were working on a new album like immediately, just Jeff discussed their thinking process in the past and potential future... But am I missing something? Was there a definite "we're going into the studio soon" type of quote I missed?Randall's Island, NY 9/29/1996, Randall's Island, NY 6/8/1997 (Ed and Mike), Jones Beach, NY 8/23/2000, Los Angeles, CA 7/10/2006, Hartford, CT 6/27/2008, Los Angeles, CA 10/6/2009, San Diego, CA 11/21/2013, Los Angeles, CA 11/24/2013, MSG, NY 5/1/2016, Seattle, WA 8/10/2018, Los Angeles, CA 5/6/2022, Los Angeles, CA 5/7/2022, Camden, NJ 9/14/2022, St Paul 8/31/2023, St Paul 9/2/2023, Las Vegas 5/18/24, MSG NY 9/3/24, Philadelphia PA 9/9/24, Ohana CA 9/27/24, Atlanta, GA 4/29/25, Pittsburgh, PA 5/16/25, Pittsburgh, PA 5/18/250

We know the basics of the early stuff. But lately we've been getting more stories. There's still more from that time. I wish they got a documentary series treatment.

The story about Jeff and Ed warming up before shows in the early days was pretty funny.0

I know Stone and Mike knew each other from school but was fun to learn how Jeff would see him at parties and stuff. And the story about getting on the guest list for the Shadow show at the Moore cus the singer illegally parked at the restaurant he worked at. Awesome stuff.Boston '06

ZoSoTim said:Corgan sucks as an interviewer. Tried to watch his Wolfgang Van Halen interview and 75% of it was Billy telling Wolf about his dad. Such a wasted opportunity. He’s way too self involved to be an interviewer.
It’s impossible not to have him grate a bit. Bit there are also fun stuff in the episodes ive listened to (Gene, Tom Morello and the STP brothers)Post edited by Spiritual_Chaos on"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -

I thought the same thing during that portion...can we hear about post 1998? lol
There may be some gems in that ~23 min that some didn't know already, so maybe it's worthwhile. 🤷♂️
I think it’s a funamentally boring trait for a so-called ”huge fan”-interviewer to get stuck in in the ”first years”. Leave that for The View.
(still a very nice listen and great talk about the first years)."Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -
Enjoyed this a lot! Fun stories about Mike and Jeff meeting each other. Photos of young Mike were hilarious. And a 25 string bass!0

This was a fun interview.
Some people won't be satisfied with it, but that's life.0 -
Welcome to the Zeitgeist
Banter with BeatoJEFF: So this is the amazing thing! Everybody in the band has these different ways that they get comfortable coming up with stuff. The way that I prefer to do it and the way [Mike] prefers is different. If we're in [the studio] with him - I think it's the pressure and us just being there - he raises to the level that we all know Mike McCready. It's like being at a live show! And me, I would rather go to my home studio, be by myself and sit in there and noodle for two hours. As opposed to the pressure cooker of it… but Mike is so good at that! Matt Cameron, too; when the pressure’s on and everybody's looking at him, something fucking amazing comes out, you know?
MIKE: I think within that pressure, there's a support… Like, these are my guys, you know? This is my… we've been together for 35 years. I fucking love these guys. They're brothers! And music, and all these other things… So, I want to bring it. I want to because it's important to me. The music's important to me. Yeah, I think I thrive in that.
