People need to learn how to function in society
Talking constantly through a concert? Bad.
The occasional "Im going to grab a beer, need one?" Fine
Singing loudly during something quiet and rare, like, say, Man of the Hour or Fatal? Bad
Singing along when prompted or when its expected? Fine
Dancing and knocking into people? Bad
Dancing and enjoying yourself in your spot, with maybe the occasional bump and "sorry"? Fine
Recording a whole show with your phone while the people behind you have to look at your phone and arms up all night? Bad
Recording the occasional chorus, guitar solo, or your favorite moment? Fine.
I'm almost always on the side of the person really enjoying themselves. I still dont understand people who go to a rock concert and stand like a lump.
But rest assured, if you try to talk loudly through the whole concert around me, eventually Im going to respond. First with a glance. Then a polite ask. Then a pretty aggressive, "can you please shut the fuck up, you've spent the whole night talking and people are trying to listen to the show, not you."Turn this anger into

Wellwater Conspiracy said:I was in GA. I was surrounded by casino status folks who just were there to drink and be obnoxious, They would sent 2 people at a time to get 2 drinks each, then two more would go when they got back etc the whole night. Had two folks fall down and need security to take them out. They all were recording videos and just watching their phones whenever they DID pay attention which was during Alive and Evenflow.
Arrived right before the Dead Pioneers and found a great spot in the back - great sound and an excellent view. Met a few new people and were ready for the show.
About 5 minutes before PJ went on stage, a group of 4 guys and 4 women arrived and stood about 5 feet in front of us. It was obvious that the dudes were fans but the women could probably not name 2 Pearl Jam songs if asked. They spent the entire show trying to talk to the dudes and the more that the dudes ignored them, the harder and louder that they tried. They also took no fewer than 100 selfies to pass them time. It was really distracting.
We did not say anything to the group - they paid for their tickets and can “enjoy” the show how they want. We ended up moving to a different part of GA to be by people who were into the show.
For future shows in GA, I think we will just try to get closer to the front to be by people who care about the concert.

Also people fainting during shows - hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
Drink lots of water and maybe Gatorade. You can bring the small packs of Gatorade powder with you to add to the water.

I brought my 12 year old daughter to her first show last night. Everyone was great around us last night on Stones side0

Had seats last night and man. Everyone around me was standing and enjoying themselves. No talking, no stumbling around, no disrespect. What a relief. You just never know.0

Maybe an hour ago, I posted in last night’s setlist thread about a similar experience I had during Camden ‘22- drunken boorish bros next to me constantly spilling beer everywhere, crashing into my wife and I, and talking loudly the whole show. Ruined what would have otherwise been a great show. For better or worse, your experience is shaped to large extent by those in your immediate vicinity.Hope you have a better experience (and neighbors) during N2!Randall's Island, NY 9/29/1996, Randall's Island, NY 6/8/1997 (Ed and Mike), Jones Beach, NY 8/23/2000, Los Angeles, CA 7/10/2006, Hartford, CT 6/27/2008, Los Angeles, CA 10/6/2009, San Diego, CA 11/21/2013, Los Angeles, CA 11/24/2013, MSG, NY 5/1/2016, Seattle, WA 8/10/2018, Los Angeles, CA 5/6/2022, Los Angeles, CA 5/7/2022, Camden, NJ 9/14/2022, St Paul 8/31/2023, St Paul 9/2/2023, Las Vegas 5/18/24, MSG NY 9/3/24, Philadelphia PA 9/9/24, Ohana CA 9/27/24, Atlanta, GA 4/29/25, Pittsburgh, PA 5/16/25, Pittsburgh, PA 5/18/250

Concert talkers can ruin you the show. That happened to us in Gemany in a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert. The guy behind us couldn't stop talking, and very loud. When happends this, your mind concentrates more in the talker than in the song. Worst is in festivals, when they even occupy the front rows to speak, ignoring the band which is playing at that moment, and you find no place to listen the songs without a talker beside.0

I was bummed when at a Billy Strings outdoor show recently. The people all around us never stopped talking.Appeared to be an animal, yet so polite.0

Or how about, "Please shut off your phone's light. It does nothing but annoy everyone around you."
That being said...I'm starting to think (after a twerp asked if I was going to stand all show in FL) that if I can't get GA, I'm going for the back row where I don't have to feel self conscious about my crazy weird dancing and standing most of the night.208XXX (September 2000) - 21 Pearl Jam shows, 2 Eddie Vedder shows, 1 Temple Of The Dog show

At Wrigley N1 last year, two guys standing in front of us in pitt, were highly intoxicated and kept leaning backwards into myself and a friend of mine. She bought a skate deck earlier that day,so I borrowed it from her and held it in front of my chest sideways. When the guy leaned back again,it didn't feel to good on his spine. No more worries after that.😁0
