    Wait, people WANT the filibuster?

trump spilled the beans yesterday...he's so fucking stupid

clearly the argument that Thune has been giving him is that if they get rid of it the Dems will take advantage when they can and add PR as a state, expand the supreme court, etc.

trump of course says the quiet part out loud, realizes it, then goes into a "but I told them they should get rid of it and we won't have to worry about that"

    so stupid

DC sandwich thrower found not guilty of assault

The man who threw a Subway sandwich at a federal officer in the early days of the Trump administration’s law enforcement surge in Washington, DC, earlier this summer has been found not guilty of assault.

The incident quickly became a symbol – somewhat in jest – for resistance in DC against the Trump takeover of law enforcement and ramp up in deportation efforts, with spray painted posters and internet jokes spreading as an homage to the incident popping up in its wake.

During the trial, federal jurors were shown several videos of the man, Sean Dunn, yelling at officers before throwing a subway sandwich at one Customs and Border Protection agent before running away and being detained shortly thereafter.

    too funny.

imagine being the ice guy dressed in full body armor having to testify that you felt the sandwich hit you through your body armor and that you then smelled like onion and mustard. if i were him i would have just taken the l and asked the prosecutor to drop the charges to avoid that embarrassment.

🥪 BP Officer Greg Lairmore testified that the sandwich “exploded all over” his chest and claimed he could ‘smell mustard and onions.’ Only for defense to show a photo of the sandwich still in its wrapper on the ground after it hit Lairmore in his bulletproof vest.

The number of SNAP recipients has zero to do with the retail cost of food. You of course know this (I would certainly hope).
The money to fund SNAP doesn't come from food producers who then in turn raise their prices.

I wonder if any of these people who have such disdain for people on food stamps and welfare would switch with them. Since they have it so easy because they don’t have to pay for anything right?

It’s like saying why do blacks protest police brutality! Unless you walk in a black man’s shoes you not you but general you can’t identify with what that feels like! I’d say it’s about the same thing.

I only disagree because people generally don't ask "why do blacks protest police brutality?" What they ask and don't get is "why did you burn down that privately owned Wendy's and then steal a TV from Walmart to protest police brutality?"

Let's face it, a Subway sub doesn't have nearly enough meat in it to constitute any kind of threat/assault. It's like throwing a feather at someone.

Imagine celebrating a person being let off for throwing an object at an officer?

The sandwich thing is ridiculous and funny but when people can do things like this and have zero consequences is where I have a problem with it.

I agree. Throwing water at police can be considered assault. I don't see how a sandwich isn't.
Also agree the idea is sort of ridiculous and funny, but throwing anything at law enforcement should have consequences.
