    The man who threw a Subway sandwich at a federal officer in the early days of the Trump administration’s law enforcement surge in Washington, DC, earlier this summer has been found not guilty of assault.

    The incident quickly became a symbol – somewhat in jest – for resistance in DC against the Trump takeover of law enforcement and ramp up in deportation efforts, with spray painted posters and internet jokes spreading as an homage to the incident popping up in its wake.

    During the trial, federal jurors were shown several videos of the man, Sean Dunn, yelling at officers before throwing a subway sandwich at one Customs and Border Protection agent before running away and being detained shortly thereafter.

    imagine being the ice guy dressed in full body armor having to testify that you felt the sandwich hit you through your body armor and that you then smelled like onion and mustard. if i were him i would have just taken the l and asked the prosecutor to drop the charges to avoid that embarrassment.

    The money to fund SNAP doesn't come from food producers who then in turn raise their prices.

    It’s like saying why do blacks protest police brutality! Unless you walk in a black man’s shoes you not you but general you can’t identify with what that feels like! I’d say it’s about the same thing.

    I only disagree because people generally don't ask "why do blacks protest police brutality?" What they ask and don't get is "why did you burn down that privately owned Wendy's and then steal a TV from Walmart to protest police brutality?"

    The sandwich thing is ridiculous and funny but when people can do things like this and have zero consequences is where I have a problem with it.

    I agree. Throwing water at police can be considered assault. I don't see how a sandwich isn't. 
    Also agree the idea is sort of ridiculous and funny, but throwing anything at law enforcement should have consequences.
