The Senate hearing today was interesting...Gabbard is a fucking moron. And I can't believe Hegseth's response was to attack the reporter that REMOVED HIMSELF from the chat group.

    I can't say I didn't expect this. What a fucked up administration.
    Happy days are here again.

I haven't watch that. But I was a little surprised how few comments there were on this thread about it. There's been pages and pages of comments about much smaller issues.
If it turns out the reporter is right, and it seems that way so far, there should definitely be resignations. Whoever added him to the group, and whoever texted the information (Hegseth I believe?) should be gone at minimum. And why are we texting war plans in a group chat, with or without reporters?
It's a firehouse of shit, almost impossible to keep up.

And it was entirely expected when these clowns were nominated and then confirmed. Elect a clown, get a circus.

all the conservatives seem to be banned? no, many magas are. cuz they broke the rules. there are still a few around. many conservatives have been, and continue to post here, regularly.

endlessly attacked? I think I mentioned your wikipedia hypocrisy once (use any source you want, my point was that you attack others and their chosen sources, then used wikipedia. get it now?), and responded to it from others once or twice. the victimhood is strong.

I engage content where warranted. But when every rebuttal is met with hysterical "STOP YOUR HATE"  or "THIS IS WHY DEMS LOST" posts, it can be difficult to weed through the nonsense to find actual content worth responding to.
I guess wiki is ok for GNR facts but not here lol?

Yes conservatives get banned after getting goaded by the left. Saying I don’t understand university medical research when my comment was about the huge cost to American taxpayers, is a commenter changing the substance of my comment to launch an attack. And then take an additional step…oops…to mock me.  As I’ve said is fine by me if the moderation was balanced.

And you defended her comment by changing the meaning of my comment …again…and used the teary face to mock me. FWIW, criticizing my comment by bringing up infant  mortality rates is changing the topic, as other significant factors contribute to that claim. Which I raised but there were zero replies from anyone on that point.

At AMT it’s not about the substance of the comment, it’s about moving the comment into a safe space and then making the straw man argument against it.
still completely missing the point, I see.

I use wikipedia all the time. My point was you used it, after your constant bashing of other's use of inaccurate sources. I'm attacking hypocrisy, not wikipedia. I can't believe I have to ask this again: DO YOU GET IT NOW?

And as an aside, using it for music information isn't QUITE the same as using for debate purposes. Can't believe that has to be pointed out.
Hugh Freaking Dillon is currently out of the office, returning sometime in the fall

None of the discussion they were having should’ve happened outside of a SCIF (Sensitive compartmented information facility) where it’s locked out from outside connections. They should all be gone just for using a stupid app for this kind of thing, but the bar is so low, that point will be missed.

National Security Adviser Mike Waltz is the one who added Goldberg to the text group.

Trump says he learned his lesson. Probably gave him a cookie and a pat on the head to boot. No accountability whatsoever with this "administration".

And Hegseth is just blowing it off...he blamed the reporter.

Imagine that info (two hours before the strike) getting to the wrong people and putting our people in danger. Unbelievable...and from the gang that STILL goes on and on about Hillary's emails.

Apparently Vance's chats were the kind that expire...which is illegal given that all of his communications are supposed to be preserved.

Exactly. All of their records are supposed to be preserved. Since their boss doesn't leave paper trails by not using email for one thing, there's nothing to prove anything. They don't want a record of what they are doing and I'm sure it's not just this one event.

    UPDATE?

A Senator in this hearing states that they will receive the transcript of the Signal meeting. I hope that's true.

I was asking myself that same question.

That should be done face to face behind closed, and secured, doors?

Anyone with less than half a brain knows that if this stupid situation had occurred during the Biden administration or during Obama or Clinton or evem Regan and Bush that all hell would have broken loose and appropriate measures would have been taken to force resignations.
But instead we have the jackasses at the wh, on the hill, and the rightwingosphere are circling the wagons to protect their own.

    And to protect RUssia too.

Does anyone expect an investigation let alone charges, firings or resignations from any of this? C’mon, man.

all the conservatives seem to be banned? no, many magas are. cuz they broke the rules. there are still a few around. many conservatives have been, and continue to post here, regularly.

endlessly attacked?

I’m trying to track your comments on funding research. It’s bad that the government provide research grants to colleges, much of which is studying health, diseases, and effective interventions in those areas, but it’s good that we’re paying an exorbitant amount for healthcare because of the outcomes from the research and development that money provides?

It’s not a terrible idea to examine how much taxpayers spend on university funding and whether there are alternate ways to finance.

These organizations have a stockpile of resources and future income that far outweighs those of the typical taxpayer. That does not mean I am against the research, only that how it’s funded, be it taxpayers , endowments and/or foreign countries that also enjoy benefits from this research, is a reasonable discussion to have.

there are obvious flaws in the USA healthcare system. But it’s the profit incentive, in the entire system, including the innovation and research, that gives the US such an excellent record in new treatments and innovation. Many socialist systems are built to minimize cost and many of these systems have a terrible record when it comes to innovation and new treatments.

A little information I haven't seen mentioned is this discussion about why people could choose to use this program. I'm not familiar with the program. See at approximately 10:00.

I downloaded Signal after reading about how it helps protect my information.  I also have high level Malwarebytes on my devices.  But, of course, nothing will totally protect any of us from certain nefarious individuals should they have cause to peruse our data. Of course, my biggest level of protection is being old and all but useless.
