    Thanking Putin, Trump links American’s release to ending Ukraine war

    The president said his exchange with Russia for imprisoned teacher Marc Fogel was ‘very fair,’ but he declined to disclose its terms.

    President Donald Trump thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday night for releasing American teacher Marc Fogel, who was freed from three and a half years of Russian imprisonment on drug charges in an exchange earlier in the day.

    “I appreciate very much what they did in letting Marc go home,” Trump said after he greeted Fogel outside the White House South Portico in the falling snow. Fogel was driven there directly after landing in a private plane from Moscow at Joint Base Andrews, where he was met by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

    Trump declined to discuss the terms of the exchange, except to say that they were “very fair, very reasonable, not like deals you’ve seen” under other presidents, many of whom he has criticized for trading Russian prisoners in U.S. jails or extending economic benefits.

    Quantity of drugs seized by Canadian officials at U.S. border has doubled in 2 years

    President Donald Trump claims he's targeting Canada with punishing tariffs on all our goods because he's concerned about the country's supposedly lax approach to fentanyl and migrants.

    But new data from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) shows Canada has a reason to worry about what's pouring in from the U.S.

    There's been an influx of illegal American drugs and guns, which experts and law enforcement say are fuelling crime, death and addiction on this side of the border, too.

    CBSA is seizing many more drugs, prohibited weapons and firearms than they were just two years ago, according to figures compiled by the border agency and shared with CBC News.

    In fact, when looking at weight alone, Canadian officials seized more illegal drugs coming from the U.S. last year than what the Americans captured on their side of the 49th parallel.

    "We live next door to the largest weapons market in the world, the largest drug market in the world. There are inherent — and significant — spillover effects," said Christian Leuprecht, a professor at the Royal Military College of Canada and an expert on border security.

    In almost every category measured by CBSA, the number of illegal goods captured coming into this country is on the upswing.

    Notably, there's been an eye-popping increase in Canada-bound drugs seized by border officials.

And as you know, they don’t offer scholarships. Not that I needed one. So I didn’t play. But had I played, UPenn would have won it all. Their loss. Many people said I should have coached seeing how I was such a great player. So my advice to you tonight is, score more goals than the 51st state. That’s it. Pretty simple right?     We are collectively stupid. And I fear that a lot of this is caused by foreign influence. A constant battering of false information that either makes certain people vote against their own self interests or just avoid voting at all.

    NO THIRD IMPEACHMENT
    Anecdotally, there were a lot of hard leftists (not actual Dems) that sat it out because the Dems are not distinguishable from MAGA on the Israel and Palestine. They didn't see the connection between sitting 2016 out and Roe v Wade being overturned so don't hold your breath waiting for them to see the connections between sitting this one out and whatever terrible stuff happens. (Assuming we have legit elections anymore) between this and all the misinformation out there, there's more likely to be a red wave than a blue wave in 2026, no matter how bad things get.

    If this country is going to do mass deportations, maybe people who "sit out" elections should be observing the results of elections from another country. If you don't like the major party candidates, vote for someone you do like or write in someone. Just quit sitting out elections. People are chastised for being single issue voters, but hell, at least they found a reason to get out and vote for something they believe in. Whether we disagree about the candidate actually doing what they say will always be an issue, but you can't complain if you don't vote.
    It's a hopeless situation...

    THIS I will never understand. How all political parties of western nations keep excusing the government that continues to execute human rights abuses on a “the fuck ya gonna do about it” scale. 

    I know why they do it (hint to israeli people-western governments don’t give a fuck about you- only your location). 

    Imagine if the Canadian government continuously bulldozed houses and businesses and buildings on Indigenous land. And called it defending itself. It’s fucked.
