I'm sure they will attempt some kind of cover up for this crash.
Possible reason for the third impeachment. Time will tell...
ok, I think it's absurd that Trump is blaming the previous admin for this, but how could this be Trump's fault?
guilt by association....that's his M.O. for everything else
What's most interesting to me is that we can look back very recently to hiring freezes and firings that, while not directly related to this accident, do raise the question as to whether or not a hiring freeze at the FAA/ATC level is warranted.
I will be very curious to see how this investigation plays out. Could be wrong, but I would doubt the cause of the accident is diversity....which would lead me to believe the Trump administration, in their undying loyalty to Trump, may try to undermine the investigation.
Could be a story that lingers, perhaps bubbling under the surface for a while, longer than people think...

Yeah they know it was the helicopter pilot...which is military....which is trump. Instead of just being able to chalk it up to a horrible accident they have to place blame. They will blame DEI even though it has nothing to do with this or the AA pilot...who also had nothing to do with it apparently.

From the clip I heard it didn't sound like trump was saying bad pilots were hired as a result of DEI policies. But rather the air traffic control was understaffed due to hiring restrictions from DEI requirements. Sounds like there is agreement that the fault at least partially lies with ATT, which should have been able to help avoid this. And the problem was they were at about 50% staff and overworked. The root problem is short staffing for air traffic control. Trump's blaming low staffing on DEI, but the reality looks like there just isn't enough interest in qualified applicants. It's a 2-4 year program with strict requirements. I'm not sure what the pay is, but those people probably have better financial opportunities who meet the requirements. Unlike positions like teachers, when they are short staffed they just over crowd classrooms and no one really dies as a result so no one really cares, here people are dead.

Bradley Miller, associate professor of history at the University of British Columbia, said the "stew of things" that Canadians have had to deal with in recent weeks has brought patriotic feelings, tinged with anger at the Trump administration, to the forefront.
Rightly or wrongly, he said, Canadians feel like they've held up their end of the bargain reached when the countries signed their 1988 free trade agreement. Now they feel taken advantage of.
"Things that we thought that we could count on are being thrown into question, and we're left trying to anticipate where President Trump's moods and his sense of political advantage will take us next," Miller said. "There's madness in the air."

I can empathize with Prof. Miller because here in the U.S., we feel the same way, times 1,000.

Now, this is definitely the guy I want revamping our air traffic control system. I want him at the table, asking questions and personally signing off on every decision that is made. Definitely. From Letter From An American:
“We’re all gonna sit down and do a great computerized system for our control towers. Brand new. Not pieced together, obsolete, like it is, land-based. Trying to hook up a land based system to a satellite system. The first thing that some experts told me when this happened is you can’t hook up land to satellites and you can’t hook up satellites to land. It doesn’t work. We spend billions of billions of dollars trying to renovate an old, broken system, instead of just saying cut it loose, and let’s spend less money and build a great system one by two or three companies, very good companies, specialists, that’s all it is. They used 39 companies. That means that 39 different hookups have to happen. And I don’t know how many people of you are good in terms of all the kinds of things necessary for that. And it's very complex stuff. But when you have 39 different companies working on hooking up different cities at different people. You need one company. With one set of equipment. And there are some countries that have unbelievable air controller systems. And they would’ve, bells would’ve gone off when that helicopter literally even hit the same height. Because it traveled a long distance before it hit. It was just like, just wouldn’t stop. Follow the line. But bells and whistles would’ve gone off. They have ‘em where it actually could virtually turn the thing around. It would’ve just never happened if we had the right equipment . And one of things that’s gonna be, I'm gonna speaking to John and to Mike and to Chuck and everybody, we have to get together and just as a single bill just pass where we get the best control system. When I land in my plane, privately, I use a system from another country because my captain tells me, I’m landing in New York and I’m using a sys— I won’t tell you what country, but I use a system from another country because the captain says ‘This thing is so bad, it’s so obsolete.’ And we can’t have that.”

Kash Patel was paid by Russian filmmaker with Kremlin ties, documents show
Patel, Trump’s nominee to be FBI director, was paid $25,000 last year by a film company that has promoted anti-Western views advanced by the Kremlin, documents show.
Kash Patel, President Donald Trump’s nominee to be FBI director, was paid $25,000 last year by a film company owned by a Russian national who also holds U.S. citizenship and has produced programs promoting “deep state” conspiracy theories and anti-Western views advanced by the Kremlin, according to a financial disclosure form Patel submitted as part of his nomination process and other documents.
Documents obtained by The Washington Post show that Patel received the money from Global Tree Pictures, a Los Angeles-based company run by Igor Lopatonok, a filmmaker whose previous projects include a pro-Russian influence campaign that received money from a fund created by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The payment to Patel came as he participated in a documentary that Lopatonok produced depicting Patel and other veterans of the first Trump administration as victims of a conspiracy that “destroyed the lives of those who stood by Donald Trump in an attempt to remove the democratically elected president from office.”
The six-part series, titled “All the President’s Men: The Conspiracy Against Trump,” aired in November on right-wing broadcaster Tucker Carlson’s online network. In one segment, Patel vowed to “shut down the FBI headquarters building and open it up as a museum to the ‘deep state.’”
The details surrounding the payment to Patel, which have not previously been reported, add to the questions Democratic lawmakers and many veteran national security experts have raised about his nomination. If Patel is confirmed, the agency responsible for defending against Russian espionage operations inside the United States would be led by someone who months earlier had taken money from a perceived ally of the Kremlin.
“Mr. Patel has gone above and beyond in this advice and consent process,” said Erica Knight, Patel’s spokesperson, in response to questions from The Post. “That includes countless meetings with Senators, disclosing and reporting all sources of income, submitting hundreds of pages of documents, replying to hundreds of pages of questions for the record, and testifying for six hours with multiple rounds of questioning before the Senate Judiciary Committee. The Senate has evaluated all potential conflicts and concerns. Mr. Patel looks forward to a vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee this Thursday and being swiftly confirmed by the Senate so he can start working to refocus the FBI on making our country safer.”
