My biggest regrets for artists I didn’t get around to to seeing are Bowie, Prince, Johnny Cash & Layne era AIC (although I didn’t have a ton of opportunity to see AIC when he was performing).

Pantera and Slayer on same bill? Wow.

Did catch AIC once st lollapalooza and remember thinking they were great! All details of show have been erased from memory...
Did go to Woodstock. The one without the riots. Caught lots of great bands. Missed Aerosmith *except opening song back in the saddle from  a distance waiting for a ride back to campsite. Missed Primus, Metallica. . Like Malroth said about riot fest. too many great bands and lots of fun distractions. Wouldn't change a thing.

PS saw Motorhead twice. 2nd time got punched point blank in the jaw by Mad dog. Some dude who didn't quite understand the mosh pit. He told me: "I saw motorhead 50 times!" I put my arm around him and said "I hope I don't see you at your 51st" I should have clocked him. But chances are he wouldn't have felt it and I would have taken a couple more to the head!

    End of flashback

Saw then a few times and wish I'd seen again.
At Lolla, Would opened....and that bass line, combined with the crowd surge, is something I'll remember forever.  Was so pumped.  (And, squished, for that song!)

When I was a sophomore in high school I missed a Stone Temple Pilots / Red Hot Chili Peppers show that I've always regretted. Also bummed I never got s chance to see RATM.

There are a number of bands and artists I wish I had seen when I could, but I've seen so much great music, I tend to be more grateful for what I have seen than regretful for what I haven't.
The one show I had tickets for that fell through was for Duke Ellington.  My sister and I had tickets to see Ellington and his big band, but the show was cancelled due to Ellington being ill.  The show was never rescheduled because that illness soon led to his death.

AIC opening for Slayer. Showed up late. Caught slayer most importantly. Didn't care about any band named Alice!
Similar to young me hanging out in the parking lot in Foxboro tailgating at Van Halen Monsters of Rock tour and skipping some new band named Metallica, heading inside in time for Dokken. Scorpions and VH.

The one that stands out to me though is when AIC played The Channel in Boston in 92. Figured I could just grab tix any time...nope.

Was that w/ Screaming Trees? I was too young at the time to get myself there. (turned 15 that spring)

I would kill to be able to go back in time for that one.

Yeah, overall I'm a very grateful music fan. There's always going to be a few I wish I made it to, but I've done pretty damn good in the decades I've been going to shows.

Agreed,  @Merkin Baller  and @brianlux  I usually make to-see-or-not-to-see concert decisions on the basis of "might I one day regret not going?" If the answer is 'yes' then the chase for tickets begins. Fortunately, it's worked pretty well, and there's a treasure chest's worth of shows/adventures I'm grateful to have experienced.

Not going to England the 02 and taking my one shot at seeing Led Zeppelin.   It's only money.   Scalper tickets for that probably wouldn't look so bad considering how much regular tickets go for now.

    Pearl Jam 9/29/96.

I flew up from Tulsa to see the 9/28 (Saturday) show and meet up with online friends from AOL. 😄

It was my second show (first was 93) and I didn't know much about seeing them a second night.

I flew home the next day to not miss work Monday at my first 'real' job.

Temple of the Dog Philly.  Had tickets in my cart, but couldn't pull the trigger for some odd reason  :|.  Ended up being a once in a lifetime opportunity given the terrible passing of the great Christ Cornell.

So earlier that year I was in Philly for both Pearl Jam shows....I just didn't feel like driving back to Philly for TOTD.  Terrible decision.

Live 8 and the Floyd reunion. Had the bones of a plan and just didn't pull the trigger. Figured there would be another chance. Nope.

TOTD, my brother said if you get the gig tickets I’ll get the plane tickets from the UK. I told him that was too much for a show and we’d catch them in Europe.

Gratitude thread reminded me of my Frog Brigade regret. Lost my mind when I saw they were taking it out again AND playing Animals. Burned a hole in those Live Frogs CDs back in the day. But we were out of town for their entire run through the northeast. Pain.
