They could go true old school with priority and members only get 1 show a tour and that's it. Rest go to general public sale. Would almost be worth it to see peoples heads explode around here if they did that. Not sure many remember the days you only got to pick one show.
I'd be curious if fans would be more confused if they had to mail in a check to request a ticket vs doing the current process...

Old Deadheads will remember going to the post office to buy f'ing postal money orders and filling out their little 3x5 cards and carefully getting eeryvthing squared away and making sure it was postmarked on the magic day and then waiting FOREVER for tix. I'll take this system, thanks
Old 10 clubbers as well. We did index cards back in the late 90's and I think also for 2000 tour.
2003 they had an order form in the newsletter.

Week 1, register for 1 single show max per household.

Week 2, register for free-for-all lottery.

Index cards back in the day didn't shut me out. I'm cool with that process, lol.

I keep a lot of useless stuff longer than I should.  But 26 years later, posting this photo justifies it.

Was the second LA show a last minute addition that tour?

Imagine the heads exploding if you were back to only getting one show a tour. This place would burn down. Metaphorically speaking.

I blame the Band it falls at their feet! It’s like they know their fan base likes to do multiple shows so what do they do? They do these micro tours I’m
not even calling them tours it’s a fucking joke

I requested ten club tickets for 9/10/98.  Day of sale they add 9/11 so I go to the nearest Ticketmaster and get tickets.  Well a few weeks later I get my ten club tickets in the mail and I get two fan club tickets in the first row between Ed and stone for the 9/11 show, not 9/10.  So now I need tickets for 9/10.  It was a good problem to have lol.

Wow, I think this may work and even I understand the concept. Except the household part, may need to limit per  membership to keep the lottery simple.

It's incredible a fan base needs protection from not understanding a priority ranking process but is still allowed to watch the college football playoffs

Back then a lot of second shows were "roll over shows" that would go on sale once the first show sold out during the on sale (usually a Saturday morning), and there would not be 10C tix for those shows, you had to find them through TM or the venue.

They used to do that a lot. There was a second Boston/Great Woods show added on September 16 on the '98 tour (that's not listed here).
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

Bringing back priority would be great for me.  I had great success with that system and now I can’t justify or afford the price of multiple shows.

I feel like the new strategy is to register for as many shows as you can (or can afford), see how the lottery shakes out, then make your plans based on which shows you won, and count on selling the ones you don't want on F2F... I don't love it.
I get what your saying, but that's a bad reality.

I don't think your'e wrong in your thinking.

They are just trying to expand their carbon foot print. They like all their equipment, staging, merch, etc. to be sent out to different areas for a short amount of time and then sent back before they head out again.

If this upsets anyone. then I'm just kidding.

They should call it “a selection of shows”.

    And bring back priority!

Locals should definitely get priority before out of towners do.

I liked priority but the amount of people that didn't understand it was astronomical so I get why it's gone.

First time getting shut out and not even remotely disappointed.  Didn't even look for emails last 2 days. F2F tix are easy enough to acquire closer to show.

No.  Not everyone gets a hometown show.  Some people always have to travel.
