How many of the 'seat trades' and fan to fan are to and from people within the group who camp out all the time? (cartel)
People look, search, beg, borrow, and steal for GA tickets and most times come up short.
The people who come here and BEG are my favorite. Same people, every tour. They have no shame. 40-50 year old so called "adults" just flat out begging. Then they just disappear until the next tour.
Take me piece by piece..... Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....

I really want to go soooo bad. I have never seen the band before and I want to bring my son who has allergies and the pollen has been bad....
but only looking for premium seat. GA or better. Preferably front row with drinks included. Nothing in the 100s, 200s, 300s, or floor.

The begging is just so childish and pathetic. Again, they have no shame. They are not the least bit embarrassed.
After 10-15 years of watching how the fans have behaved with this whole GA system? I would LOVE to see the band just get rid of it completely. Just go back to some lottery rows. Rows 1-2, 9-10 or maybe the 1st 5 rows. Then everyone else is back to relying on their 10club number.
And I have the highest 10 club number of any living member. I have purposely let my number expire at least 5 times. I'm trying to be the 1st member to get to 1,000,000.

Haven’t perused this thread… If any kind soul would be so obliged…I’d be grateful…
Any advice for getting up front?
I was fortunate enough to score GA. Taking my oldest son… 17.
Assuming be in line a few hours before they open the doors?? 🤷♂️
Any advice?
I took my 15yo to his first GA show in 2023. Best advice? Just enjoy it. Don't waste hours standing around just to be in the crush of everyone. Get there a little early, pick a spot near Mike and enjoy the show.
My son asked me why we couldn't move closer. I told him that those people waited for hours to be there and we should respect our place in line. I added, if you want to try to get up front, go for it. He did. Many nice people let him thru and up to the rail. He came back at the end a tambourine, 20+ picks and Jeff's wristband. I feel like I ruined his concert experience for life by making this the standard for his concert experiences Took him again in 2024. Same experience. Another tambourine and more picks. Your experience will vary, but just enjoy the show - and go to Mike's side!
I’m sure this has been mentioned already haven’t read back but Springsteen handled this the best. Show up with a GA ticket between 1pm-5pm and get a numbered wristband. Maybe 1000 people show up for a wristband sometimes less depending on the city. Everyone with a wristband comes back at 6pm and they draw one number let’s say it’s 257 now they’re the first person in. Then everyone else files in numerically after that. Simple.
I'm torn on this system. I feel that with this system there are some people who will never win that GA lottery and have a chance to get on rail. With our system everyone has the chance to get on rail if they can put in a bit of time and effort. So, if someone really wants it and can organize themselves to try it at least once, they have a chance. With that lottery they may never get the chance.
Last year at Fenway I had friends who experienced the rail. They really wanted it at least once. They camped out and got to experience the rail. They said it was fun. They weren't sure if they would do it again, but were really happy they got to experience it at least once. With a GA lottery their number may never come up.
That’s what gets me M. There’s people who don’t queue now and think it’s dumb, apparently think being on the rail is a waste of time and that the sound sucks, but they are so bothered by people who do it that they want to blow up the entire thing and make it a lottery that they might never win and still will never get to experience rail. Just to take the experience away from people who do it now or want to do it some day.
Do you not think the same people getting ga and up front is selfish? It’s hoarding a product for themselves when many people would like the opportunity once or twice especially for their home town shows. No matter how they go about getting there it’s just selfish greed. Would it kill these people to be 3 or 4 people back?
Hustle costs nothing
Except how much is hustle and how much gaming the system? Again no way the same people legitimately win lottery for ga for every show. The odds, even sharing tickets, are astronomical that a set of say 40-50 people could get 10 to 20 winners in a lottery of what maybe 500 a show? For every show? Puh-leeze. So just winning the lottery than manipulating the line to get rail every show? So I’ll stand by my comment those people are entitled and selfish
I’ve been told in the past that GA attendees slip off their paper plastic bracelets after they are already in the pit, and get them to people who didn’t score GA tixx. Pretty sh*tty.
I’ve been told in the past that people in seats stub down to the unsold lowers and squish multiple people in empty aisle seats.
Wow. The name calling and accusations in this thread are staggering. Before you start saying that the people on the rail are bullies, read through this thread and see the behavior exhibited here towards them. Not very nice I would say.

There’s just as many of the people who shit on the GA campers doing this too. I’ve privately offered plenty of my tickets to those who “just want to get in the building” to be then told they’re waiting for GA or the first few rows of the wings.

Some are amazing people and it’s not right to lump everyone into the same group. You and Chrrie for example are great GA members and also add so much to this forum.
I apologize for my outburst in Nashville 1 and to those that caught the ugly nature of it… I won’t say the reason on a message board, cause it’s not child’s play, and I’m not downplaying my role in it… I shoulda waited but stuff happened in Atlanta too.. and I don’t look the other way on stuff like this. But my emotions got the best of me and I turned into what I was railing against a bit
if I caused any grief or made anyone around me upset for a few songs

ill send you $100 that you can donate to a cause or go out to dinner

i've seen so many of them asking to trade up to GA and I wonder who the heck is trading out of GA if they chose GA in the lottery.
People trade out of GA for different reasons. For ATL1 my friend got GA. He is an older guy and prefers a seat. So I traded my seat for his GA. Since GA isn't a separate category anymore, some people prefer seats, but get GA in the lottery. I have another friend who prefers seats. He traded one of his GAs for good seats for Pitt2. If you have a good network of friends, you can work with them on trades, etc.

My wife and I traded out of GA in St Paul a couple years ago for some killer seats near Stone, and I would make that trade again in a heartbeat if I could.

With true current system, the fanclub encourages members to “select all sections” for a better chance at securing tickets. I think a few sets of GA tickets end up on the hands of people with little to no desire to stand all night or not have a reserved place to sit after getting food, etc. It’s pretty common.

I have had GA a few times, but have been on the rail only once due to work, family, and other obligations making it hard to get to a venue too early. It can vary by venue, but in my experience if you arrive when doors open, there is a decent chance you can get a position within 10-15 feet of the rail. It is 95% as good as being on the rail yet takes minimal effort. I am a little taller than your average person so sight lines are not a big issue for me, but even the back of GA is still an amazing spot. Hope you and your son have a great time!
I think anytime you see the same people with the same awesome spots at concerts that are hard to come by it can bring up some negative (potentially jealousy based) feelings.
That said, while I have never been a "threat" to them, I have been in the 2nd/3rd "row" near many of them at shows on each of the last tour. I don't have any negative personal experiences. I mean, them rushing out through a tight full pit as soon as the last note hit kinda sucked as it ruined the goodbye, but certainly not a big deal.
Watching the # of people in that front group in line vary throughout the day can be annoying...but I am hoping they maintained 1/2 or great of their people at all times.
Would I love to be on the rail? Hell Yeah. But I am not willing to put in the effort these people do. I do think they have create an advantage through their #'s that effectively negatively impact others in line, but it's the process we have.
What bother me is there is a standard set of no waiting before a specific time...and then people, venue security, etc all do something different than what was sent out ahead of time. It's so stupid to say 1 thing and do something completely different. Now, I don't know if this is the venue getting lazy or pressure from the regulars that results in the venue having to accommodate them.
I do wish that group would decide on their own to hang out in 1 spot instead of all along the rail every show. But that isn't something they have to do, they can go where they want. But it would be nice for some others to get to experience it. If I were the band, I would stop interacting with people I saw a 3rd time on the same tour. They certainly encourage this.

I understand this as a height challenged person. I struggled to see anything from GA in the past because I wasn’t on the rail or tall.

There are significant benefits to charging market prices for the best tickets. Keep out sh’tty behavior and rid the freeloaders getting rail every show. Current system is just another way to exclude the majority of fans from the best tickets.
since they already charge premium prices for mediocre tickets, this shouldn’t be perceived as a big deal.
