Both times I got it, I was at a PJ concert days prior

Hope you deal with it quickly and without any sort of issues.
Exactly the same for me. Avoided it until MSG '22, got it again Seattle '24.

Hope your case is mild. The fatigue, for me, took awhile to resolve, so be kind to yourself with rest.

I actually feel worse that your trip ended (I think?) before that last Sydney set! (But you may have been too sick to go.)
If you meant me?  I didn't get sick until I got home. Left before Sydney.. since I'm an independent contractor I don't get paid unless I work... so I came home after 5 shows to save $, but since I'm sick I'm unable to make any.

Yes, the second part was for you.
I saw your post as you were going home.
I was feeling bad that anyone there would have to come home before the shows were over. (Even moreso after seeing the Sydney2 setlist!)
I don't know the precise timing, but when you got sick after you got home, might have coincided with the Sydney shows. So even if you had been able to stay, you might not have been able to attend those shows anyway, due to illness. Just a small bit of consolation!

that was by far the worst of the 3x i've had it.  10 days laid out on the couch.

Thanks... I'm ok with what I missed at SYD... I'VE heard all those songs (Hunger Strike by TOTD in 2016 and by Ed/Earthlings in 2022). But thanks for thinking of me!

I have been lucky, I have been to many large events since 2021 and no positive tests (knock on wood). Definitely caught a couple of bad colds that took more time than usual to clear out. I did have to get some antibiotics in May 2024 to get rid of the last one. If it does not go away after a few days of Tylenol, Mucinex and Sudafed, I call the Doc. Feel better and stay healthy friends!

I hadn't even had a cold this bad since the pandemic. Went to lots of concerts... guess it was just my time with all the travel and crowds.

My aunt who is 80 with cancer got Covid, was better in 3 days. Get vaccinated, drink water, wash your hands. It’s just like the cold or flu, it’s here to stay.

Good for her, she was one of lucky ones.... your PSA isn't needed here.
I was looking for any others who traveled to OZ and maybe got it too?

Relax, no one is arguing with you. I’m sure other people got it, it’s a cold. You will be fine. The vaccines are safe and effective. You can get Covid anywhere, doesn’t have to be from a concert. Did you email the airlines or the hotels you stayed at? Just rest and drink lots of water.

Are you eligible for Paxlovid? Might be too late for it at this point, though.

Antibiotics are for bacterial infections, not viral infections. If you were prescribed antibiotics, then you either had a bacterial infection or they were taking precautionary measures to stave off pneumonia or another bacterial infection. Antibiotics can't "get rid of" a cold, flu or COVID infection.

I have a really crappy immune system, an autoimmune disorder that wreaks all kinds of havoc on my body, and yet have never had COVID.  The world is a mine field to me.  That might explain my ridiculously high number of posts on this place.

COVID can leave secondary infections so antibiotics are feasible. I.e sinusitis, pneumonia as you said

I was lucky up until June... I've been to a bunch of shows since February of '22, and flown several times since then, but didn't get covid for the first time until PJ's Manchester show this year. (based on the rest of the people who got sick after that show, I have to think that's where I got it).

RE: "it's a cold" - yeah, it's a cold like the flu is a cold. If your personal covid experience felt like just another run-of-the-mill virus and you weren't laid up for days (or worse), you're also lucky.

Well the zpack cleared out my chest congestion in about a day when Mucinex was not working. It normally does. And I have had a pneumonia vax, so whatever it was the zpack worked and got rid of my non-COVID, non-Flu sickness.
