Will Pearl Jam follow suit you think?

I mean they still largely do with dynamic pricing in play. They have so many pullers that they are still able to get tix (maybe not as many as they'd hope) before the dynamic price goes up, so they can list and still be in line with the market and make money. Unless a venue wants to ID at the door for everyone entering it's going to be an ongoing give and pull, unfortunately. Hey if people never sold their tix I wouldn't have scored GA Pit for Wrigley N1.

This plus holding back some dates just tells you they're unsure how sales will go. This isn't altruism.

Yeah, I can't imagine Oasis still being that huge...? Am I missing something? Admittedly I've never been into them, but selling out the Rose Bowl seems ambitious (capacity 89,700).

They've got to make it to the rose bowl first!

Anyone having trouble confirming their presale ballot?  I got the first email announcing the U.S. dates, and another one after I signed up.  The 2nd email has you click a "confirm" button but when I do that, I get a "page not found" message.

I'm guessing GA seats will be $150 then and not $400

Didn’t they only play decently big arenas on the 2005 tour in the US? Or have I read that wrong…

But don’t underestimate global hype seeping into the national mind.

I'm looking at Gillette Stadium shows the last few years and it's all pop/country stars or stone cold legends like the Stones, Dead, or Metallica. The only outlier is Rammstein and that's it's own thing. Will be interesting.

They’ve definitely got the hype machine going strong, but they’ve never been anywhere near the same draw in the States as they are in Europe. But i’ve been surprised before (see the Creed tour this summer), so will be interesting. I have 0 interest in traveling to see them in a stadium. If they were playing Pine Knob 20 minutes away from me, i might go depending on prices.

Yeah, I feel like Oasis just had 2-3 hits here in the USA.

    Champagne Supernova
    Wonderwall
Morning Glory (which wasn't played much on mainstream rock radio, but moreso on alternative rock radio.)

No you're right by the look of it. Don't know how they sold but Tweeter Center then MSG around here with Jet(!) as support.

They haven't really toured in almost 2 decades, so you have pent up demand.  Plus the dates they announced are pretty limit, so it's going to be a lot of fans travelling to the cities where the shows are.

We were talking about Toronto (only Canadian date) or Los Angeles (closer date).  I put in for the draw.. you never know.

At this point in my life, Oasis is one of the few bands I've never seen that I can actually go see. Most of the time I'm going to bands now it's for the 5, 6th, or 30th time.  Knocking a new one off the list gets rarer.

See how much the tickets are and what not.

Kind of feels like the first GNR reunion tour.  We went to the first date around here just in case they imploded again, but here they are doing the 5th lap of the same tour :)

And obviously added to that is the whole Gallagher saga and that legacy in rock.

Hopefully atleast this can nudge Pearl Jam from the dark path they are on

If Pearl Jam also books shows where ticket demand is hazier I predict a similar epiphany of generosity

I can easily see these selling out. Seeing an oasis show is superb, singalongs a plenty. Serious anthems

There’s a whole generation that hasn’t seen them plus some that never saw them but now will go to check them off the list.

Nostalgia shows are big. People are flocking to see the 80's Hair Metal bands of their teenage years. People who grew up in the 90's are doing the same for the bands of that era now too. Everyone wants to relive when we were younger and cool! :)

I wouldn't mind seeing them if they came close to me and tix weren't outrageous but I don't think they are coming any closer than Chicago.

I really like a few of their songs but I'm just not familiar with the rest of their catalog. I do envision them either breaking up again or Liam just being a total ass the whole time which would ruin it for me.

It will be a thing to go see Oasis during the summer and in the major US cities, even for casual fans. I will not pay a high price to see them at a stadium. I suspect that it will not be too hard to get a ticket close to the shows. But it will be interesting to see if the announcement about dynamic pricing comes to fruition or if it is just PR.

Isn't it just 50,000 people at Rogers Stadium (not Centre! Not Place!) in GA with likely a second night added once it sells out? Just wait until the night before and people will be dumping at reasonable prices.

They are clearly hedging because they're not confident in how sales will go

There was on the leaked itinerary. The announced dates match what was on there, so I guess if/when they announce Gillette depends on how these shows sell.

I don’t understand the hype for Oasis.  To me they are next year’s Alanis at Ohana and nothing more.  And they will be nowhere near as good as she was.
