Wow, that's an amazing setlist. I feel like everyone who went to any shows this year before Philly but didn't go to the Philly shoes have a right to feel a bit jealous, haha.

  • Honestly….another top 5-6 show post Covid. Encore was becoming a little MSG2-y but completely salvaged. Alone and Rats were SO good. Besides the beginning of the encore, the only down moment was Wreckage and Wishlist. Once was awesome

For me personally this show was better than the first night in philly IMO. I was just on cloud nine for some reason before the show even started. And when they opened with Of The Girl was ecstatic (that was my white whale song). I also heard a few other songs which I hadn't before like Alone.  Heard my 2 fav songs off DM , Scared of Fear and Waiting for Stevie.

Had a great time volunteering at the wishlist party. Also somehow got a poster which was great! Don't think i'm gonna get much sleep tonight.

Second night was great! Crowd energy was a little lower, and mostly my section I think. Night 1 I was high up and the rows behind me were singing so loudly! Tonight, I was still a bit high and my section was a bit quiet. (4 people next to me left multiple times and once rats started they never came back).

In My Tree was amazing! Loved hearing that. Hadn’t heard it since 2003! So happy to hear WFS and Upper Hand. Was hopeful to hear Setting Sun at one of these two shows. Have to chase that one down. If Gigaton showed, I would have liked to hear Superblood or Quick Escape (attended 3 Giga shows and never heard them).

Very happy to hear Animal again and the crowd energy on Betterman was great! So fun watching Mike and Boom during Crazy Mary. Alive into RITFW and YL were so much fun and the crowd was pumped.

So happy to make this trip with my son and sister! Great day bicycling at Valley Forge on Sunday, pizza and cheesesteaks at Angelo’s (next level!!!), and a wonderful time at the Museum of Art and Rodin Museum. Had fun chatting to other fans about coming to see the shows, and a lot of fun to get so many comments from the museum staff and hotel about so many PJ fans in town! (How much did we contribute to the local economy? 😂)

While our hotel overbooked us Saturday night and sent us to a Quality Inn, we got a free night’s stay and free breakfast this morning, so pretty good all around!

Getting up super early to make the drive back to Atlanta in the morning.

Thanks for a great vacation, Philly!

New York had the PJ belt for a pretty good stretch and Boston has been a contender for a long time.  But Philly erased all doubt with these last two shows that they are the undisputed PJ champions on the US tour.  Well done!

I have definitely heard louder “single moments” at a PJ concert (e.g., Betterman at MSG), but these two Philly shows had the loudest “sustained” crowd energy over two nights I have ever experienced.

What a show! I thought the encore was pure fire when the band came back out. That version of Stevie was incredible and Rats..thank you sign people. That made me so so happy. I sure hope insignificance is played in Baltimore. That is my number 2 sing to hear live after Release which continues to elude me.

Watching Eds gratefulness all night over the crowd was so heartwarming. I just adore this band so much.

Loudest Betterman I’ve heard since msg 2010. What a night. What a two night stand. Incredible.

Amazing show. The sound of the band with the acoustics in the arena was really crisp
and clear. Heard everything so well. Hoping Baltimore got better since 2013. Best band in the world!

Also got to watch about 4 songs during the main set with Glen Hansard! Popped up in ga right next to me. Gave him a fist bump, of course some drunk started  hugging him and being slightly annoying but GH handled it like a pro with a smile. What a champ.

Was supposed to be $220 (split 3 ways) but like 4 drivers cancelled on us and finally convinced someone to take us but he basically extorted us for a $100 cash tip. Still worth it IMO to be home at 130ish vs nearly 3 if I had to take trains.  Pretty damn tired today though…

  • I honestly can't say which show was better. 52 songs, 4 repeats which makes 48 unique songs over 2 nights. Rarities like Red Mosquito and Alone with the crowd singing every word. Amazing versions of new songs - Won't Tell, Waiting for Stevie.

Pearl Jam and Philly - what a love story!

I’ll also say the the GH duet was fucking beautiful. I was able to appreciate it more because I kinda expected it and I had a feeling the rest of the encore would be insane. Which it was.

What an incredible two nights! Last nights set was a very up and down show for me. Highlights were of the girl, alone, rats, in my tree, elderly, stevie and a kick ass porch. Low points were wishlist, dotc, and the duet with Glen (just no room in the set for this!).  Can't wait for the next tour!  I am exhausted after four shows in a week.
    Overall rankings after a week:
    1. Philly 1
    2. MSG 2
    3. Philly 2

    4. MSG 1
I'll ride the wave where it takes me......

I think this might be the best “new songs” reaction that I can remember. They go over very well. And rightfully so

I think this two show run in Philly might be my favorite two show run in a city that PJ has ever done. Or at least very close to the top. I knew it was going to be hard to top Saturday night which was one of the best shows I’ve ever been too and last night didn’t but man did they try their best. Unbelievable show.

Highlights were In My Tree, a great version of BM, Rats(!!), DOTC, Alone, and perhaps my favorite version of Crazy Mary I have ever seen them do. Towards the end when Mike and Boom were going back and forth was electric. Awesome stuff. Ed sounded great all night as well.

Also, I was a big fan of the new album when it came out already, but getting to repeatedly see the new songs live the last 5 shows has only confirmed to me that this album is a top 4 or 5 work of theirs. The songs are sounding better and better live which is awesome. Scared of Fear, WFS, and Upper Hand specifically are just killer love. Really enjoying hearing those over and over again.

i have one more show on this tour, Baltimore on Thursday night, but I was really soaking in the show last night and thinking how lucky are we as a fan base to have this band?? I mean I don’t think we can take for granted the shows these guys are giving us after 33 years when most bands would be phoning in a greatest hits tour. We got 48 unique songs over two nights and the band played with the same energy they did 25 years ago. And whether people want to admit it or not their prices are an absolute bargain in 2024 for someone of their stature. It’s just awesome that we still shows as special as these two Philly shows from them. Had to take a second to appreciate it knowing we probably don’t have too many of these nights left.

On to Baltimore for the 6th and final show of the fall leg for me!
  • Dammit. There's now no chance In My Tree will be played at Fenway. That's a once per five or six show song.

Looks like this was a great show. Dance of the Clairvoyants is a nice get too.
  • I too am exhausted and a little numb from 4 shows in a week.  What an amazing 4 shows though!  We are so lucky to still get to do this with our favorite band. I’m so grateful for these experiences with friends and with my family too. What a gift!  I FINALLY got OF THE GIRL!  So happy!  Everything else after that was just completely and fully accepted and enjoyed.  Highlights include:  In my tree, upper hand (my fav from DM and up there for all time fav songs), alone, Stevie, rats. While I completely agree that Song of good hope with glen brings the energy down it’s such a meaningful song to my daughter and I that Im so glad they played at both shows she attended with me.  Being the last of my shows this tour I’m not ashamed to admit that I shed a couple of tears during YL.  Who knows when I’ll see them again?  Cherish every moment for what it is.  Live it and appreciate it.  We don’t get those same exact moments again and who knows what tomorrow will bring.  Thank you PJ!!

Another incredible show.  Didn't think the energy by the crowd or the band could come close to matching Saturday night but damn it came really close.  Of the Girl a cool opener.  Crowd on Elderly Woman was as loud singing as I've heard at a show.  Not a fan of In My Tree in general but it was really damn good last night.   New songs sounds great.  Upper Hand and Stevie sound so great.  Such a treasure that this band is still producing such great songs and amazing shows 34 into their career.  They all seemed to be having so much fun up there last night.  Forget what song it was but took a look at Josh and he was just going crazy in back.  Mike and Boom on Crazy Mary they both had a look of pure joy.  so cool to see.   And as fun as Wrigley was and hopefully Fenway will be an indoor arena show is just a far better experience in my opinion. give me indoor anytime.   So when are the next Philly shows?

Edit: one of the coolest things I saw was the Security Guard on the floor at the end of the Pit near section 101 was fucking rocking out to a few of the songs.  Animal he was going ballistic.  He was having a blast.  Very cool to see.

  • Fantastic show.  I really enjoyed hearing the new Dark Matter tracks live for the first time, but "Rats" was definitely the highlight of the night.  The whole set-up with Eddie's Spectrum story and the Rats sign in the audience was just perfect.  Thanks PJ for another incredible show.
