Tea

I read my fair share of British, Irish and Scottish crime fiction. I also watch a few Brit car shows. In both, they are constantly ”flicking on the kettle” for tea. Do you UK’ers really drink so much tea? Do you actually like it? I think it’s pretty much terrible and will only drink it if I’m sick or as a last resort. And what the hell are these “digestives” they’re always talking about?

Not british but I drink like 6 cups of tea during my work hours. Don't need to put on any electric kettle though, just use the "coffea and tea and coco machine"

Tea is drank by most people non stop here. And dunking biscuits is a beautiful thing.
Chocolate hob nobs. Get on them.
It really is drank far too much. I drink it black . Milk is the devil. But it's drank all over India and the middle east. In great quantities too.  Americans don't get it like we don't get football that's played with the hands.

Some of you know that I have experience in Asia. Very cold oolong tea in the summer is amazing. I also love green tea, both hot and cold, but not that CVS stuff that tastes like grass. If I am in London, I rarely order a coffee.

To me this is THE BEST tea in the world.  I mostly drink tea, a preference over coffee. It's mostly smoother form of caffeine than coffee, of which I drink from time to time.

Shit tea drinker here too. Not much of a coffee guy but usually have a cup of tea at 8:30 and 2 (that precise) and maybe mix a cappuccino in between around 10 or so.

i usually get some good loose tea at the holidays and will go through that early in the year
  • My boss is English and he does coffee before noon and then tea the rest of the day - so yes they drink that much.

A good loose leaf black tea is the best. For caffeine based tea English breakfast is the way to go - this can then be turned into a London Fog with some oat milk( I'm with lastexitlondon milk is the devil).

Having said that a good cup of really good, well roasted - preferably locally - coffee is magic first thing in the morning.

I totally hate tea. All kinds, and I have tried a LOT, because I kinda want to like it, since so many enjoy it and it's so cheap, But it's all terrible. Both of my parents drink tea like people in the UK (my dad is from England). My mom will sometimes drink 12 cups a day! It's insane! I spent much of my childhood making tea for my parents on demand, lol.

Chocolate digestives are awesome though. We always had those in the house when I was growing up too.

I love tea and coffee.  Depending on my mood I drink whichever.  I don't drink dully leaded coffee anymore.  Makes me too zippy so a 50/50 blend or straight decaf.

I drink mostly Green tea w honey.  I really like that.

There is a Ramen spot we go to and always buy some of their floral tea to take home.  The fragrance and the flavor are amazing.

Jasmine? Once in awhile I like a good strong coffee. But mostly green tea these days. I actually keep a thermos (Hydro Flask, Eco Vessel whatever) of cold green tea by my desk in the summer. Changes to hot around Thanksgiving.
