Home Depot on Addison and Kimball.  Not joking.

Wrigleyville Dogs, Clark Street Dogs, and The Weiners Circle are all within range of Wrigley.  With the Weiners Circle being the furthest.

I have had my share of dogs in Chicago. I like them in general. It is unique. Please tell me why you boil or steam a 1/4 lb. dog? I think Superdawg was the best I had, but it still kept me asking. Why not put it on the flat top?

All of the strong opinions in this thread are hilarious. Over on the West Coast we get our dogs from the carts selling Tijuana street dogs outside the the arena/stadium. Some day I will get a proper Chicago dog and a NY slice. Never had those and I want to be able to argue with people about the best ones.  ;)

Shut up and just get the crab at Swan's. It is better than the Chicago dog or the NY slice. I told my brother (longtime SF resident) that the crab there might even be better than Maine lobster. Do not even get me started on Tomales Bay oysters.

Chicago Dog: Mustard, Relish, Onions, Dill Pickle spear, tomato wedges, sport peppers and celery salt on a poppy seed bun.

Maxwell Street, usually a polish sausage, but also can be hot dog: Mustard, sport peppers and grilled onions.

Lots of places sell “char dogs” cooked this way. Fatso’s Last Stand is my go to for this reason.

It's funny that I've never had the crab at Swan's. Been there a long time ago, but not within the last decade or so. I definitely gorge on oysters. Pizza is really my jam and I have definite opinions. I don't believe that a NY slice will be better than a slice from Pizza My Heart or the roasted garlic potato pesto slices from Escape from NY, but I want to have an informed opinion. Sizzle Pie in Portland and Evel Pie in Las Vegas are also good.

I have to admit i spent 10 minutes looking for Swan's because i've never heard of it before, thinking it was some secret hipster pop-up... then i realized i think you mean Shaw's :) which is very tasty ... especially the bisque

Nah. Swan's Oyster Depot in SF. It's an institution.

I have some strong opinions on pizza (maybe not as strong as those no ketchup folks from the Midwest). See the pizza thread.

I guess it is really called the "Swan." There is a great Bourdain episode on it. Back on topic, I cannot say I ever had a great hot dog out west.
