    I am surprised Project 2025 is a surprise to anyone. All those nutbags have been openly working towards this for decades. They are highly organized, highly motivated, extremely well-funded and already have power in government. This has been clear for so long... Why so many ignored it for so long is beyond me.

    So the eliminate SS is an interesting one.  I have heard and read for years that they wanted to privatize it, not eliminate it.
    Every republican president has passed laws on lowering prescription drugs so them raising it is another interesting one.

    I watched Frontline last night about the rise of the far right in Europe but particularly in Germany where the AFD party is gaining seats in parliament. It profiled their leader who advocates Germany for Germans and espouses the same rhetoric of the Nazi party which is illegal. He, and his party, advocate for the mass expulsion of immigrants and non-Germans, even if they were born there. As a result, there has been terrorist attacks against Jewish and immigrant targets, as well as massive plots to overthrow the government involving well to do, wealthy, professionals and members of the military and police broken up and prevented by the security services, inclusive of seizing the Bundestag. Sound familiar?

    What struck me was the closing remarks of the head of the German state where the AFD leader was elected from. He was born in Germany, lived there his whole life, and is Jewish. He said, and I paraphrase, “ they are telling you what they are going to do. They are serious, they have resources and they’re not hiding it. They are telling you what they’re going to do and they have plans to do it. They are using democracy to destroy democracy and they are telling you what they’re going to do. And you better listen and wake up.”

    POOTWH’s rhetoric and that of the repub party and its minions mirrors that of the AFD. They are telling us what they’re going to do. We better listen and wake the fuck up.

    I don't see what the problem w the immigration overhaul is. What we have now is not working and this would be a step to curbing it. Fixing the influx at the border should be a cause for concern.

    The citizen status on the census would just make people not want to fill it out, i'd drop that.  It might be there to see how many non citizens are actually in the states but it'd fall flat.

    Removal of the T&U visas is dumb.

    Building the wall is also dumb but if it helps the economy why not?  They've been building it or repairing it in places for years anyways.
