    This is another thing that no one outside of the extremists who support it and the liberals who actively are aware of it will even have a clue what it means and how it would impact our country if implemented. The common voter of this country doesn't have time to sift through everything in it and unless its content is delivered in TikToks, Instagram stories or X's, will remain a hidden agenda until after election day. It's a fucking scary document and the people behind it are extreme cult crazies.

    I've seen it argued in Elon's Echo Chamber that "Trump has nothing to do with Project 2025."

    I agree...but anyone who doesn't think he'll roll out the red carpet for it must live under a rock.

    This will be a long read.  I was surprised at how organized they got to put all this together.  This was quite a bit of work.  Now I'm curious on how long this project was going on for?

    I think this was started when Obama became president but I could be wrong.  Back then it wasn’t named this, obviously.

    but trump changes his mind like a weather vane, so expect him to be back on board with the project 2025 plan next week.

    To paraphrase what Marc Elias said earlier today, life's too short to read the whole thing, but it's important to read a good summary of it.

    But to provide one anecdote to your statement about limited awareness of the document, my twenty-something, very moderate, son brought up Project 2025 in a conversation last week, without any prompting. He's aware of it, has read summaries, thinks it's "batshit crazy." This is not my super woke, very online child.

    Nicolle Wallace is on a mission to make sure everyone knows about it; let's hope that more widespread media attention helps open people's eyes.
    All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.

    Accounting for the long history of intelligence failures and surprises, an incoming conservative President must appreciate the ambiguity, complexity, limits, and assumptions inherent in intelligence assessments. Intelligence often deals with the human dimension in complex decision systems within a foreign country or organization, and this makes consistently accurate predictions difficult if not impossible to develop. Seeing something and understanding what you are seeing are two different things, so a President should consistently and patiently press the IC about its potential biases, assumptions, methodology, and sourcing.

    With regard to election-threat analysis and politically controversial topics, agency leaders should take seriously the Ombudsman’s admonition that we need to maintain tradecraft standards across all countries and topics by ensuring that equitable standards apply across all foreign threat actors. Analysis should be put forward without regard to the domestic political ramifications of intelligence conclusions. “Obligation to Share” and Real-Time Auditing Capability. The federal government has made admirable progress in recent years by being more forward-leaning in sharing cyber threat intelligence with private-sector partners and the public, emphasizing that the protective nature of such information is of value only if put into the right hands at the right time. Since critical infrastructure and services are overwhelmingly owned, managed, and defended by the private sector in the United States, there has been an increasing emphasis on declassifying intelligence and sharing actionable information with private-sector partners, often through industry-specific Information Sharing and Analysis Centers (ISACs); regional meetings of government and private-sector experts called InfraGard, run by the FBI; direct public notification from the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, and (increasingly) the NSA; and more discreet one-on-one engagements led by the collecting agencies.

    These programs properly recognize the private sector’s role in providing cybersecurity for Americans; in practice, however, the intelligence shared by the U.S. government through these venues is too often already known or no longer relevant by the time it makes its way through the downgrade process for sharing. In addition, government-shared information often needs to take advantage of the opportunity to provide contexts, such as attribution, trends, and size of the observed cyber problem. As warranted, additional context should be provided to the private sector as a matter of routine.

    Trump's a useful idiot who will serve the culture warriors along with some rich people. They can walk back the rhetoric all they want. When he's in office, they'll do what they can to implement Project 2025. He didn't design it and probably doesn't really care much about it either way. But he's protecting himself, which means cozying up to these people and ranting about the radical left.

    I agree. Let’s face it, he certainly doesn’t know how to run a government so a book that others can implement for him so he doesn’t have to work is a perfect example of who trump is.  I’ll bet they told him to back off about the Biden debacle.  Someone is controlling the diarrhea that usually comes from his mouth because he normally would have slaughtered Biden about it.

    But Project 2025 has lately become a lightning rod for other ideas Trump hasn’t explicitly backed. Within “Mandate for Leadership” are plans toban pornography, reverse federal approval of the abortion pill mifepristone, exclude the morning-after pill and men’s contraceptives from coverage mandated under the Affordable Care Act, make it harder for transgender adults to transition, and eliminate the federal agency that oversees the National Weather Service.

    Its voluminous and detailed plans also run counter to Trump’s desire for a streamlined GOP platform absent any language that Democrats could wield against Republicans this cycle.

    Roberts recently faced backlash as well for saying in an interview that the country was “in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.”

    The more Americans learn about the Heritage Foundation's authoritarian Project 2025 initiative, the more they dislike it. That may be why both former President Donald Trump and groups allied with him are now trying to keep it at arm's length.

    According to ABC News, America First Legal — which is led by Trump's top immigration adviser, Stephen Miller — has reached out to Project 2025 and asked to be removed from its list of advisory board members. The network reported that the group was listed among the other groups collaborating with Heritage on Project 2025 as recently as Thursday.

    "I have zero involvement with Project 2025. Zero. None. I made an advice video a long while back for students. I have no involvement with the project whatsoever," Miller told ABC.

    Miller's gesture may prove fruitless, given that his fingerprints have long been on Project 2025 well before it got its official name. Axios reported in 2022 that several Trump administration veterans like Miller were closely involved with efforts to craft a blueprint for a second Trump administration to radically transform the federal civil service into an army of political loyalists — a key plank of Project 2025.

    In addition to Miller, former Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought, former Presidential Personnel Office Director John McEntee, former acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell and former National Security Council official Kash Patel, among others, were named as accomplices in the report describing the plan. CNN reported this week that these Trump White House veterans, along with roughly 140 other ex-Trump advisors and staffers, are involved with Project 2025.

    That plan to pack federal agencies with Trump loyalists relies on an executive order known as "Schedule F," which Trump issued just before he left office and which President Joe Biden promptly rescinded not long after taking office. That executive order removes long-standing employment protections for career federal employees, thus allowing a president's direct appointees to drastically go up from roughly 5,000 to more than 54,000.

    These appointees, thousands of whom have already been pre-vetted by Heritage, would then be placed in key positions of influence throughout federal agencies, effectively allowing a president to implement draconian policies largely free from congressional interference. Project 2025's criteria for screening potential Trump administration employees aren't based on applicants' knowledge of federal policy, but whether they're dutifully loyal to the MAGA movement.

    Miller's move to distance himself from Project 2025 comes after Trump's second post claiming he had no knowledge of the initiative or of who was behind it. On Thursday, Trump posted to his Truth Social account that any effort trying to tie him to the controversial plan was "pure disinformation."

    However, Trump claiming ignorance of Heritage's blueprint and its architects falls apart upon closer scrutiny, given that he was recorded speaking to Heritage in 2022 and shaking hands with Heritage president and Project 2025 leader Kevin Roberts.

    "This is a great group, and they’re going to lay the groundwork and detail plans for exactly what our movement will do," Trump said two years ago.

    Project 2025 aims to sell off public land (p 517-538). Not some here or a protected area there. All of it, to the highest bidder. They specifically name the Boundary Waters (523) as a place to develop mining, logging, and/or fracking.  Much of it is sold under the guise of "energy independence" but is simply a vehicle for oligarchs to make money for themselves rather than the nation to own these assets.
