    Also no Riot Act!
    That’s less surprising imo.
    But equally sad.

Hope he hasn’t caught the lurgy that’s been going around the UK in the last month or 2. It’s real hard to shift & catching people in the chest & throat. Wouldn’t be great for a singer obviously 😬
    Get well soon Ed!!!

A big thank you to Manchester. For the support of Eddie. If they hadn't taken over large parts of many songs, Eddie wouldn't have been able to keep it up or would have damaged his voice even more. He was already out of breath on All Night. So it's all the more astonishing that he stuck it out to the end.

So ‘official’ set list says they played 24 songs & we counted 23. Will have to wait on someone who was there tonight to confirm…

So it is mixed feelings for this gig.

    The negative
For me it wasn’t the set list I wanted. Still after 18 shows no mfc can’t believe it’s scratched 🤣.

Ed obviously struggled in the mid section of the set and the set list was around his voice.

The positives were that the venue was really very good acoustically. Very special.

Mike was on absolute fire. I think the best I’ve seen him.

My eldest got to see his perfect set list and he got his and my favourite all time song added, black. Which was a very special version. Ed Definitely got emotional in the we belong together end.

So if I had gone on my own maybe slightly underwhelming, but having seen the pure joy on my sons face this will hold a very special place for me.

Thanks as always for the memories PJ. ❤️
Now it all comes down to numbers, now I'm glad that I have quit

What a great silver lining for your eldest to get ‘Black’ 🙏🏻

No unfortunately not. Really wanted that running and setting sun. Hence the slightly Downer.

Just to comment on Ed’s voice. Did not notice any issues first 5 songs.

Was ok during the new stuff other than DM which was a bit of struggle.

Had a lot of missing chorus in the middle hits and was struggling.

Thought he came out really strong on encore.. No issues on black alive dte.

I saw him at the London show in 2018 before he cancelled the next. He was far far worse at end of 2018. No comparison for me.

Obviously could get worse but I think he should be ok for London.

Yeah that is a bit of a downer… I was at the London O2 2018 show where Ed struggled through & had to cancel the following night.
It does disturb the evening slightly, because you’re anticipating whether each song will go all the way, or what parts Ed might miss.
But I guess that also reminds us how lucky we are to still be able to see such an amazing band play.

Yeah he was pretty rough at the O2 in 2018. Really felt for him, because he was clearly in pain but wouldn’t give up.
Everything crossed that the 3 days off will give him a chance to recover 🙏🏻🤞🏻

  • I went to the O2 gig in 2018 and I didn't really notice his voice until he mentioned it. But this time, I could tell during Why Go, before he mentioned it. This felt worse than 2018 but he got through it. Hope the lengthy rest between shows helps him.

So at the concert I was at today, which was without question great, Eddie was already out of breath during All Night. The fact that he had no problems with Black & Alive was due to the fact that he let the audience sing all the difficult parts. As he did with Even Flow and other songs.

In the first 30-45 minutes, he informed the audience that he had caught a cold. And asked the audience if the person who gave him the cold in Dublin was present. He himself had blamed it on the fact that he had gone into the crowd.

A short time later, he tried to explain how awful it felt in his throat. And briefly philosophized about how to proceed. And even mentioned the word „skip“ as a (hypothetical) possibility in this context.

I hope he recovers quickly. Ideally, he should see the same doctor who got him fit for Amsterdam 2022. And I hope everyone has a great concert in London.
